Today, I’m excited to reveal the U.S. cover of my cookbook at long last! Many of you have already come across this cover on Amazon.com as it’s been up there for a while now, but of course, I wanted to reveal it on the blog too. I found this gorgeous bunch of rainbow carrots at a local market earlier this year and I was dying to take photos of it. At the time, I had no idea this carrot photo would be selected for the cover – or turn into one of my favourite side dish recipes in the book. I can’t wait for you to see the “after” photo and recipe inside the book. I may or may not have inhaled the entire pan shortly after the photo shoot. Well, that applies to pretty much every recipe. Anyway, I love how vibrant and unique this cover is and I think it’s going to really pop off the shelf.
Why two covers?
Some of you asked why we have two different covers, so I thought I’d take a moment to explain the process today. I’m lucky to have two publishers behind this book. My Canadian publisher, Penguin, and my American publisher, Avery (which is an imprint of The Penguin Group), had different visions for my cover which is why we have two. Penguin really wanted to showcase one of my recipe photos on the cover as you saw a few weeks ago, while Avery wanted something more abstract which would emphasize my focus on using whole food, plant-based ingredients. The Canadian cover is found on Amazon.ca and the American cover is on Amazon.com.
Overseas Availability?
I’ve also had some of you ask when the book will be available outside of North America. My publisher is currently in the process of trying to sell the rights to the book overseas, so hopefully I will have good news to report in the coming months. I don’t know if and when that might be though, but I will keep you posted! Amazon does ship to other countries, so that is always an option too.

Pre-orders:
Many of you have told me that you pre-ordered the book and I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. Pre-orders are a big deal in the publishing world because all of the pre-orders count toward the first week of book sales (that is, the release week), increasing an author’s chances of getting on a best seller list. Pre-orders also help publishers predict what kind of numbers to expect during the initial release and help sell the book to other retailers. So in other words, your pre-orders make a huge impact and I greatly appreciate each and every one of you who have taken the time to do so!
For all the pre-ordering info, see here.
Ok, if you have made it this far, bless your soul. Enough book talk.
Can we talk a bit about the holidays? I’m having a hard time grasping that it’s nearing the end of November. This year has flown by. Is anyone doing any holiday meal planning? I’m toying with the idea of creating a 3-course vegan holiday menu, step-by-step, featuring some old and some new recipes. A complete holiday menu, vegan styles. I’m thinking a salad to start, 1 main, 2 sides, and a dessert, all holiday themed of course. Many dishes made the day before. Would this be useful? Am I insane? Let me know. :)

I am definitely going to pick up a cookbook. Partly because I love your recipes but also to say THANK YOU for all the wonderful recipes you have already given to me.
So thrilled about your cookbook! I am preordering and can’t wait to receive it! I have loved so many of your recipes and have enjoyed sharing them with my friends and family over the past few years. These will be great gifts! :-)
Just pre-ordered! I would never have pre-ordered so thanks for explaining how it helps you! I’m happy to show my support :) Now come on March!
Hi! I just wanted to say how helpful you’ve been to me in the past year! I realized I adore vegan food (at least your recipes) and I’ve noticed how good I feel when I eat vegan! You’re a real inspiration, both for the food and your courage for taking on your career in another direction!
I just pre-ordered your book, so excited :D Good luck, I’m sure it’ll sell really well! Oh and I personally like the Canadian cover better (and I’m Canadian so that’s good haha)
Just pre-ordered four cookbooks!!! I can’t wait! I’m so excited, and so very grateful to you for keeping us smiling and cooking healthily here in Massachusetts.

Looking forward to hearing news on getting your book in the UK – otherwise I’m getting it shipped – but which cover to go for…?
WE NEEEEEED your book in the UK!!
I live in Europe and I usually order my books from this seller: http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Oh-She-Glows-Cookbook-Angela-Liddon/9781583335277. They already have your book for preorder and they ship worldwide with 100% a free delivery. :)
I pre-ordered :-) And am very much loooking forward to finally getting your book.
Regarding the holiday meal planning – that would be fantastic as my mum became a vegan just now and I am trying to convince her that Dad will survive a Christmas without meat :-) With one of your recipes, I am sure this would be much easier!
So excited for this three course holiday menu!! I am hosting Christmas this year and this would be so helpful! I just started making a list of Christmas cookies I will be making this year and your nutcracker cookies were the first ones I thought of! Yum!! They are so delicious!
Ah, thanks for explaining the difference in covers. Interesting. Those carrots are stunning. A friend grew multi-colored chard last year and it was very pretty.
Congrats again on your book, very exciting!
I would love a Christmas menu Angela. Your Glazed Lentil Walnut Apple Loaf has become the base of my holiday entertaining. I can hardly wait to get your cookbook. I love the American cover. Congratulations!
I am very excited about your book coming out. I have just preordered 4 of them. One for myself and one each for my kids. Even my husband is asking when it will be here!!!!
Thanks again Angela!
Oh my gosh, that’s amazing! Thanks so much Anita :) Totally flattered you are so excited.
Congratulations!
Thanksgiving dinner: Not trying to create Extra work for you, but…Only two sides…? ;)
Would love a vegan and gluten-free holiday menu! All the holiday main dishes for vegans are centered around gluten-based items. We’re going to be trying your lentil mushroom walnut balls for Thanksgiving but any new ideas for Christmas would be much appreciated from my celiac husband and boys. Wondering if there’s a “roast” we can make from tempeh. We buy it in bulk from a local supplier and I’m always looking for new ways to dress it up ;-)
Thanks so much for all your inspiring recipes and ideas!
Just like everyone above, I’m SO excited for your new book to come out Ange! I love your Canadian cover, but the carrot lover in me also loves the US one! I think a vegan holiday menu would be fabulous. I’m going to be in California for Christmas this year and haven’t a clue what we’ll be having for Christmas dinner, but you always inspire me!
Congrats again . So very happy for you. I cannot wait to get my copy
What a lovely cover with the rainbow carrots! The title text is unique – the same as the one on the blog – so it’s very eyecatching :)
A holiday menu would be a godsend – being able to cook everything in advance and convince my parents to have a yummy vegan celebration would be very satisfying since otherwise we’ll likely eat out and I’ll have to eat salad while they chow down on seafood. Please post a holiday menu!
Looking forward to your posts :)
Yes please definitely :) I cannot wait for your book to be released in the UK! Or I may just have to do a cheeky order across the Atlantic ;)
Beautiful cover Angela – Congratulations! I am preordering mine today!
Merry Christmas to me :-)
Love the Christmas menu idea too!
