Did you know that today is the 1st day of Spring!!
Did anyone else see Google’s awesome home page design??? Love it!!
Unbelievable! I find the past month or so has just flown by! :) Soon I will be able to garden. I hope this year to start a small veggie garden as well as plant lots of flowers. I have never really gardened before so I will appreciate all of your tips!
Do any of you garden? What do you plant? I need some ideas! :)
Green Monster:
I had a wonderful and healthy breakfast this morning, with a shot of the delicious POM Blueberry Juice:
In the mix:
- 1 handful baby organic spinach
- 2 organic kale leaves
- 1.25 cups Almond Breeze
- 1 Tbsp homemade almond butter
- 1 Tbsp flax
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 1 shot of POM juice
This smoothie was PERFECT! A lovely Friday antioxidant powerhouse!
Don’t forget to enter the POM contest here!
Vegas Fall ‘07:
I will end today with some pictures of our Vegas trip in fall of ‘07. It was our first time there! Eric was sent on a work trip and everything was paid for. All I had to pay for was my flight! Pretty amazing! :)
You are allowed to drink outside in Vegas…
Loved all the shopping in the hotels…
Our hotel, Mandalay Bay
The room:
Walking around…
Mandalay Bay has its own beach! I got to lounge while Eric was at his conference…mauhauha.
While it was really fun to explore Vegas, we can’t say we really want to go back. 1) We hated all the smoke everywhere. Being in Ontario where everything is smoke free is really nice. I hate the fact that the casinos are so smoky you can’t breathe and your clothes all stink the next day. 2) We also aren’t gamblers! lol. I enjoyed all the sights and the shopping though. :) Oh and the restaurants were fabulous! Oh and the people watching was out of this world!!!!!
Today’s Question: Have you ever been to Vegas? What was your experience like? If you haven’t been, are you planning on going someday?
Word on the street is that I won the Jocolat giveaway on Katie’s blog Chocolate Covered Katie!!! So freaking awesome. I can’t wait to review these bars!
Have a great day everyone! This morning, I’m going shopping with a couple gifts cards that I need to use up…see you this afternoon for what I bought and more fabulous eats! I should also be getting more wedding pics today!

Yay for Spring, I am so glad that it is finally here. What a tasty green monster this morning! And it looks like you guys had a fun trip to Vegas!! I have always wanted to go there, and you can drink outside anywhere in Sweden too!
I’m also really excited about gardening this year! We’re planning our first veggie garden this year. So far I have seeds for tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, spinach, a couple lettuces, green onions, eggplant, squash and several herbs. For flowers, I just go to the talk to the growers at the farmer’s market and go from there. They’re so helpful and know exactly what goes best and where.
It’s snowing in NJ today, ahhh!
I have never been to Vegas but I live 25 minutes from Atlantic City where it’s basically the same idea. I hate the smoke smell and I am not a gambler either, but the bars/clubs are a lot of fun. It’s definitely a one-time kinda place though.
Quick Question. Do you have a countdown to when you will officially begin operating your bakery? The anticipating is building!
I LOVE LAS VEGAS! I went there on my honeymoon in 2005 and we’re going back next year for our 5 year anniversary, I can’t wait. Next time we go, it’s going to be neat to do it a little more “healthy” than the last time since I changed my lifestyle completely in 2007 :)
I used to have that same swim suit + lovvvvved it!! :)
My grandparents randomly live in Vegas so we go to visit them. I’m the same though…don’t care to gamble and HATE the smoke! I think it’d be fun for a bachelorette party or something but it’s not somewhere I’d consider vacation.
Have fun shopping!!
Hey Angie, I am actually going to vegas at the end of April with my boyfriend ! Do you or any of the readers have any good restaurant suggestions? Did you go clubbing over there ? If so how was it… I read that its crazy expensive so we wont go if we cant manage to get passes or something… I would love any insight! Thanks
I went to Vegas for 4th of July in 2006, and it wasn’t my thing. Like you, I hated the smoke, and I am not a gambler! I did enjoy all of the shopping though–I spent more money than I am even comfortable admitting! I wouldn’t go back though–I can’t really justify taking a trip to Vegas just to shop! =)
I’ve been to vegas once but it was with my dad (who is also my boss) for an accounting conference. Needless to say I don’t think I had the typical “Vegas” experience. But I would like to go back ONCE more and do it up right.
i kind of felt the same way about vegas! the smoke bothered me a lot. also, the whole city made me feel a bit guilty because there is SO MUCH WASTE. i mean, just think about all the water required to keep everything (hotel landscaping, beaches etc) looking gorgeous and green in the middle of the desert. i had a fun going there and i may go back someday, but overally i found it to be too crowded and not really a good fit for my environmentally friendly life.
Hi Angela,
I’ve been following your blog for a while now, after stumbling upon it accidentally a couple of months ago. I don’t normally comment, but just wanted to let you know that I’m out here and that I really enjoy reading your blog. Your enthusiasm for all things healthy really is infectious! Keep up the good work!
Olivia (British, but currently living in Berlin, Germany)
I’ve never been to Vegas, but I really want to go!
To tell you he truth, I have never had the desire to go to Las Vegas. If I’m going to go on a vacation, I want it to be somewhere warm, clean, sunny with lots of trails and beaches. Not too into the gambling. It would be cool to see the shows there. Did you see any while you were there?
ps- You are GORGEOUS
Cheers!
Sarah
I got married in Las Vegas exactly 2 weeks ago today, in front of the waterfalls at the Mandalay Bay! I agree that Vegas is smoky, but smoking is no longer permitted in any of the restaurants – thank goodness! We however found the restaurants overpriced with mediocre/terrible quality and was truly disappointed with Emeril’s and FIX, but found RAO’S quite good. Oh, don’t forget the Bellagio breakfast buffet… mmm ;)
I’m starting a veggie garden for the first time this year, too. I’m hoping to plant basil, mesclun, tomatoes, spicy-ish peppers, eggplant, and mini pumpkins. If I plant all that, odds are SOMETHING will grow! :)
I’ve had tons of Dance competitions in Veg..and it’s only a 4 hr drive/1 hr flight :D I’ve been for a few friends’ birthdays too! I love the place..but I’m always SO ready to go home after two days! My favorite thing is the shows- I saw cirque du soleil’s KA, amazing!
I GO TO VEGAS EVERY YEAR!!!
I’ve never been to Vegas. :o(
I’m not a gardener but I too am going to grow veggies this summer! I need tips too!
Diana
such cute pictures of you and hubby! you look in awesome shape!
I LOVE Vegas…my husband and I have been twice and we are gonig again at the beginning of April. We are not gamblers either but we love the food, sites, shopping and shows! True Vegas can be smoky but you can no longer smoke in restaruants and some of the Casio’s are now smoke free the MGM Grand being one of them. So it is getting better that way. I live in Alberta so a flight to Vegas right now is $79 on-way on Westjet! It is a great little getway from the kids for a few days! ;)
