I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

The Buddha Bowl from FRESH on Queen Street!
I’m a huge fan of chia pudding – but I would have to say my all-time favorite vegan food is tempeh bacon!
Thanks for the offer!
My favorite vegan food is rice noodles with tons of veggies and peanut sauce! Yum!
I’ve been scouring their website recently- great stuff! Hmm me favorite vegan thing to eat? I’m sort of new to this realm, and only really tried baked goods- but I love them! Does that count? haha
I make a raw version of chocolate buckwheat crispies that is pretty good! One of my favorite vegan foods has to be a black bean and guacamole burrito. I love Mexican food soooo much and have found the flavors to be much better vegan than traditionally covered in cheese and sour cream. Whole, plant foods are way better than greasy food any day!
I love making frozen banana “soft-serve.” It’s incredible that frozen bananas can achieve that consistency.
Hi Angela! I love your blog! I am doing my undergrad right now in business but I work as a vegan personal chef on the side. I often use this as an opportunity to try out some of your recipes. My favorites so far have been the chili with chia seeds (such a good idea and I am actually making it today!) and the vegan pumpkin pie. OMG my family loved this pie this Thanksgiving. They never want a regular one again. Mission accomplished :). I also love ANYTHING with mushrooms in it. Specifically, I am loving cream of mushroom soup that gets its creaminess from being blended with raw cashews. Thank you for showing me all of these cool things to do in NYC!
One of my favorite vegan foods is your brownie pumpkin pecan pie! Definitely a holiday indulgence – I love it and it’s always a hit with non-vegans as well!
No way! This is so cool and generous of you! I have to say that your Mac and Cheese has truly changed lives! So many good things happen when Mac and Cheese is involved ;) Thanks for the chance to win this amazing give away!
One of my favorite vegan foods is hummus! I had the best vegan sandwich the other day with grilled veggies and pesto hummus! It’s tasty but also healthy and easy to make!
Almond Milk! Great for replacing cow’s milk in recipes! I also love the pumpkin vegan cookies they sell at Wholefoods : )
Love the Cashew Spaghetti sauce! Don’t miss the dairy at all.
I’m a big fan of vegan butternut squash/pumpkin/sage soup!
Raw chocolite, raw almond milk and raw gold nuts
Although I’m not a vegan, I’ve been contemplating becoming one after an amazing experience at Pure Food & Wine. Pure’s Sweet Corn and Cashew Tamales are hands down one of the best restaurant entrees I’ve ever had – vegan or not!
My favourite vegan food right now are your parsnip fries :-)
So delicious!!!
Kale! Nothing is more nutritious, and it tastes great, too.
One of my vegan favourites is your sweet potato lentil salad. Such a comforting dish!
Love it! Can’t wait to go try it when we go to NYC!
my favorite vegan food is tempeh :)
