One Lucky Duck Big Gift Sampler Giveaway!

December 1, 2011

IMG_0323

I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.

At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.

We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.

I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!

It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.

It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

It’s so hard to choose a favourite vegan food! There are too many. Maybe my favourite newer vegan food discovery is Silk almond milk, so much better than Almond Breeze and now I’ve stopped drinking soymilk!

Favorite vegan food right now is your burgers! I can serve them to anyone, but truthfully I end up eating them all myself :) Nothing to feel guilty about there though. Thanks for the giveaway!

It is hard to choose a favorite, but I would have to say kale chips. Also, roasted cauliflower w/ indian spices. NYC looks amazing. :)

My favorite vegan foods remains simple: beans and rice.

Picking a favourite vegan food is practically torture, so I’ll cheat a little and pick two. When I’m needing that sweet and comforting moutful: whole grain bread, guava jam, almond butter, sprinkling of ground chia seeds and sliced strawberries in between. For the salty, but equally as comforting delight: a bed of brown rice, layered with chopped raw kale/cilantro/arugula and covered in vegan chilli. (insert droopy eyes and goofy smile)

I have just started eating vegan, and so far my favorite thing is big giant salads, because you can mix in as many delightful things as you want!

Such a generous prize! My friend just went to NYC and now seeing your adventures makes me want to go sooner rather than later! The Cheese-y Crackers of Blone Macaroons would suit me just fine ;)

I LOVE One Lucky Duck. Probably one of my favorite NYC restaurants.

My favorite vegan dish is my adaptation of your Protein Power Goddess bowl (http://ohsheglows.com/2011/05/12/lightened-up-protein-power-goddess-bowl/). I make it all the time- YUM!

I loooove Palak, which is Indian creamed spinach. I could eat that green goop everyday, especially with soy milk instead of cream in it! I also am obsessed with the cookie dough blizzard from your site, and my very un-vegan/ meat loving finacee loves it too! Score!

While I was pregnant last year, I would dream about the live falafel wrap from Blossoming Lotus (http://blpdx.com/ ) in Portland Oregon. It is addicting! I’m also a sucker for your vegan chocolate chip cookies. Thank you for your inspiring recipes, I appreciate you!
