I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

I think vegan macaroons are so tasty. My favorite is a vanilla coconut macaroon. They are so good, that 1 is never enough!
Choosing a single favorite vegan food is pretty near impossible because all of the foods that I love are vegan! But there is one thing that I make every week – Hummus! I eat it with veggies, on sandwiches, with crackers, on salad, and now that I think about it, even by the spoonful!
Just one favorite vegan food? But there’s so much!! I am on a huge Mac and cheeze kick right now!
my favorite vegan recipe mango kale salad.. lame i know but SO delish! i had the best one in washington dc, its prob my fav because i cant ever seem to make it correctly so when i find a good one out somewhere, its all i want!
where to start?????????? I never met a bean I didn’t like………but–homemade maple almond butter or 80% or higher organic dark chocolate would be definite contenders.
SMAC in new York city has the most amazing vegan mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself isn’t vegan, but they have vegan options. The sauce is creamy and gooey and it has a crunchy bread crumb topping.
I love vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies
Holy comments Batman!!
Thanks for the giveaway, uber jealous of your trip to NYC and One Lucky Duck! My favorite vegan foods are anything with sweet potatoes and kale! My all time favorite vegan dish was from a restaurant that closed a few years ago where I live in Lansing, MI- Magdalena’s Teahouse. Her Raw Taco Salad was delish!
HUMMUS! But if we’re talking deserts, I just loved coconut milk icecream!
I’m not sure I have a favorite. Currently on my mind is the carrot avocado curry we had for dinner. Delish!
My favorite vegan food is definitely the Tuscan lasagna from Candle Cafe. DELICIOUS!
Awesome giveaway and the cafe has been on my lift for a while! I love kale chips, I have only started eating them since becoming vegan and can’t believe what I was missing. Some of my go to ingredients for vegan cookings and baking are flax and earth balance!
Oh my…There is this vegan soup…Golden beet, ginger, white bean with sage soup…at the humblest little bakery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. All organic, all local, makes one very very glowy!
I actually have enjoyed a lot your recipes and it’s so hard to pick one but my fav so far is the pumpkin gingerbread.
I love one lucky duck!
Your butternut squash mac n cheeze!!
My favorite vegan food hands down is whole grain spaghetti with a grilled veggie tomato-based sauce!! but that was my fav even when I wasn’t a vegan! ;)
Love sweet treats from Vegan Treats bakery in Bethleham, PA.
I love One Lucky Duck – especially their mallomars, although I’ve never tried any of the goodies in the basket! I think my all-time favorite vegan food is tofu bibimbap, though the ice cream at Lula’s in NY might be a tie!
Veggie Curry with coconut milk and brown basmati rice. Could die for this everyday, especially with fresh cilantro on top!! YummmYYYYY!!
