I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

wow! all of those goodies sound delicious! some of my favorite vegan treat are Lara bars and homemade vegan cookies :)
Honestly, Earth Balance faux butter. Butter was the hardest thing for me to give up – I use it on everything! I learned about Earth Balance from a friend and it’s still the first item I tell newbie vegans to get.
How exciting! I definitely love vegan mac and cheese, even more than the normal version. It feels more like comfort food. It’s creamier!
baked sweet potato fries…w/ olive oil/sea salt
sounds like a wonderful box of goodies
Your sweet potato breakfast casserole…(yum) and it makes enough to last me all week :)
I LOVE One Lucky Duck, so, of course, would love to win this giveaway! As for my favorite vegan food… Tough choice because there are so many delicious ones, but mine, at the moment, is raw nori rolls with an almond pate filling and lots of veggies piled in. YUM. (But if you ask me this question tomorrow, I’ll have a whole new answer because there are just so many delicious things to pick!)
BBQ seitan sandwich on a hero roll.
Oh how I would Love love love to win that giveaway!!! My favourite vegan foods are green smoothies of course and for a close second it would have to be VOO! YUM!
Hummus! Any kind of hummus.
I only buy it/make it on special occasions because the batch is guaranteed to be done within a half hour, eaten with my fingers.
My favorite vegan food would have to be hummus and raw veggies. Can’t go wrong with that!
mmm macaroons!
My favorite vegan food is your pumpkin molasses gingerbread with spiced buttercream. It’s out of this world! :)
My favorite vegan food is granola. There are so many recipes & varieties. My sons & I love the delicious aroma as it bakes.
wow only 925 comments so far! hopefully my number is the lucky number. I love hummus.
Veggie pizza (cheese less)
One of my favorite vegan foods is roasted veggies with couscous! The best thing about it is that you can use up pretty much any veggies you have lying in the fridge, and it requires very little effort. You even featured it in one of your recipe round ups! :) I made this for my husband last night and he went crazy over it – polished off every last bite. I’m so lucky to be married to a veggie!
I love raw vegan brownies & truffles! Especially when made with medjool dates & almond butter. Another favorite is a raw vegan carrot Ginger soup made with butternut squash, carrots & carrot juice, young thai coconuts & lots of Ginger! Yum.
KALE CHIPS. hands down!
it’s lame because it’s so simple but i absolutely adore banana softserve. i could eat it three times a day. so delicious, so easy, so good. ohh and veggie burgers. the right one can be heavenly.
and i’ve been on such a raw kick lately! weird, i know, because there’s snow on the ground now but it’s been great. if you ever make it up to collingwood/blue mountain we have a killer organic/raw/vegan restaurant up here called pure. it’s awesome! i think you’d enjoy it.
My favorite vegan food is your butternut squash mac and cheese. It’s seriously delicious!
