I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

My favorite vegan food is definitely is YOUR PROTEIN GODDESS BOWL. Love it’s tanginess and cheesy sauce. YUMMYYYYYYY!!!
Vegan tacos: as many different beans I can find mixed with nutritional yeast, Cholula hot sauce, sea salt, Vegenaise, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and flax oil. Topped with tons of crispy lettuce and salsa/guac. However, the glutton in me is constantly screaming for Tofurkey’s Vegan Cheese Pizza. With some of your peanut butter cookies for dessert. YUM. I’m making your pumpkin pie next week. Can’t. Wait.
hmmmm I have so many vegan favorites!! lets see…I love vegan lasagna, vegan cupcakes, and vegan mac n cheese with sqaush!
Almond butter, creamy oatmeal, and banana soft serve!
My favorite vegan food right now is vegan burgers. There are so many different kinds to make and they all taste so amazing! and of course the vegan cookies are always delicious.
I love so many vegan foods… And because its so hard to choose just one, I’m going to cheat and say anything vegan topped with avocado… Preferably LOTS of avocado!!
My favorite vegan dish right now is a mushroom and shell pasta with bell peppers, basil, and tons of garlic! Now that I have nutritional yeast I want to try and make cheeze sauce for it, but I’m worried I’ll mess it up. MUST… BE… BRAVE!
My favorite Vegan food is Vegan Broccoli Casseroll with baked Tofu! I would love to be the Lucky Ducky!
That’s a hard choice but I think I’m going to say your banana-blueberry overnight oats or mac n cheeze using nutritional yeast… both are soooo good :)
Pretty much anything with your 5 ingredient cheeze sauce rocks my face off. Slather it on the bun of a veggie burger, ladle it over pasta, spoon it over a bean burrito… it’s all just so very, very good.
I love vegan shepherd’s pie with mushroom gravy!
oh my gosh!!!! me want!!! that place looks so cozy. must go if i ever visit nyc again!!
Fav Vegan Food – your pumpkin gingerbread loaf
Fav vegan condiment – Veganaise!
my favorite vegan food is quinoa with roasted kale and peppers tossed with cashew cheeze
My favorite vegan foods are sweets; I love vegan cookies or brownies :D
mmmm so many to choose from, I would say any vegan recipe that includes PUMPKIN and pumpkin spice :) Like your pumpkin pie smoothie, or oats, or pumpkin cake, muffins, pancakes… drool… :)
Hi(: I just found your blog a few weeks ago and it has been truly amazing. I admire your journey. I have been a vegan(no meat) since October and am planning to be one for a long time. I’m 15 and I don’t have a favorite vegan dish because all the vegan dishes I’ve made are my favorite.(:
I love delicious vegan desserts, especially cookies. It’s great to make something that satisfies the sweet tooth and makes my body and soul feel good :)
I love your PB and chocolate pillow cookies – I made them for my husband’s birthday and he LOVED them!
