I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

It’s a toss up between roasted veggies and oatmeal with vegan protein powder, cinnamon, and pumpkin!
Black bean burritos with avocado and salsa, delicious!
Oh, this looks so delicious! I’m going to NYC in a few weeks, I definitely have to stop by!
My favorite vegan food… these days, it’s a daily green smoothie. Oh, and of course everything that involves chocolate… :)
Chickpeas! I seriously can’t get enough…in tacos, soups, salads, or just straight out of the can ;)
Simplicity is sometimes the best–I love mashed butternut squash (sometimes with a little brown sugar and cinnamon)!
My favorite vegan food is salsa, guacamole with chips and homemade veggie burgers :)
Peanut Butter! I could eat it by the jar full.
Hummus!
I don’t know if I can pick just one but today I made some cashew/raisin/lemon raw snack bars. Kind of like a Lemon Lara Bar. They really hit the spot.
Fave vegan foods are the ones that are naturally vegan….FRUIT AND VEGGIES!
Mine is probably oatmeal with almond milk and nut butter :D
my favorite vegan food is a TIE between banana soft-serve and mine-and-my-roommatie’s blackstrap-pumpkin-millet granola recipe! yum!
Wow that place looks wonderful. At the moment I am loving a soy chai latte (which I am pretty sure is vegan) or spiced pumpkin cake.
Favorite vegan food, that is a tuff one. Favorite quick food, “Cutie” clementines, they are one of my favorite treats of the year; favorite not quick food, anything than on the dessert menu from Millennium in San Francisco or spaghetti squash with veggies and Tofurky sausage pieces.
I enjoy reading your blog and thank you for the wonderful recipes and inspirations
my fav vegan food? brussels sprouts!!! but only because i just ate some and they were awesome :)
Hands down it would be your Black Bean & Butternut Squash Burritos. SO tasty. SO easy. Going vegan I was hard at the thought of ‘giving up’ tasty burritos. You proved me wrong.
Also I love Vegan Black Bean Burgers.
OH! And dessert. Spiced Buttercream Pumpkin Gingerbread … to die for!!
I think I could go on and on …
Any type of vegan dessert! Gotta satisfy that sweet tooth!
I love vegan cupcakes that this yoga studio I go to makes for a monthly yoga dance party and I love kale chips as well!
Indian food, absoultely. As well as vegan enchiladas!
Oh my goodness Ange, how generous of you!!
I think my favourite vegan food is cashew cheese. It’s so delicious and rich. The Saf restaurant in Wholefoods Kensington does a wonderful one. I must get back there soon!
Glad you enjoyed NYC, I am longing to go back there someday.
