I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

mushroom gravy over quinoa
My favorite vegan foods would be green smoothies and salad with mama pea’s mmmm sauce!
Fave vegan food is nutritional yeast… love it!
kimchi!!!! I love it on salads, plain as a snack, in rice bowls etc.
Hands down, without a shadow of a doubt, definitely… GREEN MONSTER!!
I have ever so slightly become addicted to them lol! I have one most mornings for breakfast and simply “bulk” it up with protein powder if it’s a strength training day.
My 9 year old son also loves them and often asks for one for breakfast or as a snack when he comes back from school :) xx
one of my staples- baked TOFU! followed with anything PB of course (:
i love the mini soy ice cream sandwiches from trader joes
Spinach bolani!
I love a big soup or stew filled with tons of veggies and beans or lentils. Fills me up and makes me happy!
Almond butter! I’ve recently conquered my fear of making my own thanks to your own almond-butter making adventure. Yum-a-licious!
Too many to choose just one! Breakfast – Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Overnight Oats (my husband thinks I’m insane); Lunch – Whole Foods has a delicious Sweet and Sour Tempeh; Dinner – Creamy Avocado Pasta; Dessert – Chilled Double Chocolate Torte. I’ve made that for several different dinner parties and no one could tell it was avocado based OR that it was vegan!
Vegan banana chocolate chip bread is my fav. Amongst others. Would be ecstatic to win!
Hands down Chocolate Chip Cookies! :)
Vegan pancakes! I never liked pancakes until I made a vegan batch!
oh my! choosing a favorite vegan food is so hard, but after discovering your overnight oat and banana soft serve parfaits, i was hooked! they’ve been in my top ten ever since! :)
