Hoppy Easter Continues

April 12, 2009

I love Tulips. And Egg Trees. As far as I am concerned they should be staples in the house year round!

Well it turned out that the weather was freezing outside today! Minus 3 Celcius this morning with a bitter wind. Brrrr. Beautiful sun though!

Instead of some outdoor frigid exercise, I had a leisurely morning in the sunroom with my tea:

So serene!

Breakfast was around 10:30am. I had a small apple this morning to tie me over.

At a local diner!

The brekkie Menu:

I got the Plain Jane :) But modified it of course! I asked to substitute the home fries for tomatoes. I was a bit disappointed when they only brought me 2 slices! I was expecting a plateful. I also got dry brown toast on the side and a Twinnings Green Tea. My eggs were poached– my favourite!

We just relaxed late morning and early afternoon. It is about 2:30pm and we are gearing up to fill up our stomachs once again! :) Nothing better than eating! haha

Eric and I were thinking about having our wedding at their house last summer. It would have been a perfect outdoor setting:

We decided against it though because the town is severely lacking in accomodations! And it is very far out of Toronto area.

Eric taught me how to play the guitar today!

I learned the beginning of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ by Metallica. Surprisingly, I picked it up pretty quick! I really enjoyed learning the guitar.

We shot a video too!

Well, lunch is ready! The homemade bread maker bread is the star of the show…

Today’s question: When you are eating with others, do you pay attention to what they eat and what portions they serve themselves?

I find it is very interesting to see how others eat- but maybe I am just weird like that!

That would be such a lovely setting for a wedding! I tend to pay attention to how fast people eat, I have a bad habit of eating too fast so sometimes force myself to slow down when others are around.

Soooo fabulous!!

I look at what others eat, but only because it’s in front of me, haha – everyone just enjoys their food (myself included) and enjoys each other’s company :-)

I pay attention to what others eat too. It fascinates me for some reason. Happy Easter :)

Looks like you are having a really nice day!

I do pay attention to what others are eating….sometimes. Other times I’m way too focused on what I am having to care! hehe.

Do your In-Laws read the blog? Do they mind that you take photos at breakfast and stuff?

I love the egg tree! I’ve been watching for ornaments on sale this year so I can stock up and set up a tree next year. Lovely!

Happy Easter!!!!!

I have recently started to pay attention to the way people eat now that I’m more in tune with my own eating. Today at lunch I don’t think I saw a veggie on anyone’s plate but mine and my children’s plates. It was heart breaking! It no longer surprises me that so many people are unhealthy based on their eating habits!

I totally pay attention to what other’s eat, portions size, etc. I think because I am so hyper aware of what I eat and healthy eating is such a huge priority and interest for me. I am trying to work on not being so judgemental about it but it is hard when I see people eating large portions of heavily processed, chemical-laden food I just can’t help but kind of cringe. Especially around those that constantly complain about their weight or health.

Gorgeous sunroom. I dream about a room like that.

I generally pay attention to others. Partially it’s to gauge what and how much they’re eating to help me decide what to do. And partly, it’s because I’m curious…the same reason I always check out what type of shoes people are wearing.

What a great way to spend Easter day! That brunch looks so healthy and yummy. Sorry to hear about the tomato fiasco… I don’t think restaurants are always prepared to cater to special requests, but at least you made the healthy choice!

That does look like a beautiful spot for the wedding, but I’ll bet you can find another equally as gorgeous outdoor spot that has all the specifications you need!

Hmm… I think I first tend to obsess a little over my own plate, just to make sure everything is healthy, what I want, etc., but then I do tend to look around at how others are eating. It really is interesting to notice other people’s eating habits!

This is the first time I’ve commented, but I LOVE your blog. I am so impressed by your cooking/baking skills! I’ve added you to my blogroll btw ;)

HAPPY EASTER!

Yeah I totally agree with you and I feel the same way. I sometimes feel like they’ll take it the wrong way-esp. in restaurants. Thanks for the comment!

Lol, I was confused when I read that part of the post because I THOUGHT you two were already married. Rereading it, I realize it says LAST summer :) . Sorry about that hehe! But I agree… beautiful spot for renewing the vows!

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your Easter Day!

Happy Easter, lady bug :o)

When eating with my dude, I try to make my portions smaller, but when out to eat with family and friends I think I purposely try not to make it even look remotely like I’m judging the fried calamari app or the steak entrees that are in abundance across the table, because I am kind of known to be the “healthy eater” at the table and do not want to make anyone uncomfortable. What they choose to put in their body is entirely up to them! I probably over analyze the situation though :-P
