Next up, on our Honeymoon tour: Athens, Greece!
Missed Stop 1? Venice
Fun facts about Athens:
- Athens is the largest city & capital of Greece
- It’s one of the world’s oldest cities
- Population: approximately 3,932,756
- First modern Olympic Games were held in Athens in 1896
- Birthplace of many prominent writers, philosophers, politicians and scientists of the ancient world, including Sophocles, Socrates and Pericles.
And it’s smokin’ hot! ![]()
It reached a high of 38 degrees Celsius the day we were there. Eric and I were sweating buckets while climbing the Acropolis and Filopappos hill. We finally reached the top of the Acropolis and discovered there was no water to be found, just a lot of thirsty tourists! If you ever find yourself climbing this, bring more than 1 bottle of water… ;)
There are about 150,000 stray dogs living on the streets in Athens. I wanted to take all of them home…
After our climbs, we headed to the Plaka shopping area where there are a lot of tourist/market type shops and high end shopping too.

love tea! greece is one of the top of my list of places to travel…hopefully will be going there after i graduate from college next spring!
Greece looks wonderful. It must just be one of those days because this is the third or fourth time it’s been mentioned to me in 24 hours and I’m beginning to feel like it’s a sign.
I would love to try these teas!
And oh my god that poor stray puppy makes me soooo sad. I want to rescue all 150 000 of the poor pooches.

mmm i love tea!
Oh that tea looks yummy…. beautiful pictures our your trip!
I love tea and would love to experience a new flavor like “chocolate banana” for one!
I’d love to win those teas! Are U.S. readers eligible?
mmmmm…i LOVE tea!! i have a new obsession these days!
First time leaving a comment, but longtime reader! Just wanted to say how gorgeous those pictures are…and the tea! Is there dried fruit inside? They look so interesting, I’d love to win it! I’m a tea-aholic.
It makes me sad seeing so many stray animals :( I lived in Thailand for a few months & the stray dogs were EVERYWHERE!! I was told that often, people fall in love with puppies & then abandon them when they get “too old.” So awful.
Your honeymoon must have been amazing!! So many places in Europe are on my bucket list :)
I love tea! And the flavours sound amazing.
When I first read the title of your post, I thought you were giving away a honeymoon, which of course, I knew I had to enter. Then I read on and realized the giveaway was for tea. Not quite as exciting as a free honeymoon, but I’ll take it!
Ooo, those teas sound awesome! Especially the banana bread one.
My boyfriend’s grandfather is originally from Greece and travels back there every winter (to escape the harrowing Toronto cold) and I keep saying that we need to visit his grandfather while he’s in Greece. So far this has fallen on deaf ears, but your pictures have renewed my resolve.
The teas look amazing! I can only imagine how they smell and taste!
Looks and sounds deeeeelish!
those teas look delicious!!! enter me :)
