Next up, on our Honeymoon tour: Athens, Greece!
Missed Stop 1? Venice
Fun facts about Athens:
- Athens is the largest city & capital of Greece
- It’s one of the world’s oldest cities
- Population: approximately 3,932,756
- First modern Olympic Games were held in Athens in 1896
- Birthplace of many prominent writers, philosophers, politicians and scientists of the ancient world, including Sophocles, Socrates and Pericles.
And it’s smokin’ hot! ![]()
It reached a high of 38 degrees Celsius the day we were there. Eric and I were sweating buckets while climbing the Acropolis and Filopappos hill. We finally reached the top of the Acropolis and discovered there was no water to be found, just a lot of thirsty tourists! If you ever find yourself climbing this, bring more than 1 bottle of water… ;)
There are about 150,000 stray dogs living on the streets in Athens. I wanted to take all of them home…
After our climbs, we headed to the Plaka shopping area where there are a lot of tourist/market type shops and high end shopping too.

Oh tea, I love thee! Really, really I do! I am a certifiable tea-aholic and would revel in the delight of a tea giveaway win! Pick me random.com!!
I would love love love to go to Greece, amazing photos Angela!
Greece looks absolutely amazing. I would love to go there one day.
I love Greece! When I was 18 I went backpacking there with a couple girlfriends. We spent a whole month island hopping about Greece – Mykonos we left and came back to 3 times making our trip 3 weeks worth of Mykonos….favourite island by far <3
I’ve recently gotten into the beauty that is tea, and would love to continue my tea-riffic (I had to! ;) with some new tea!!
I love tea, I probably drink it 2-3 times per day. That tea looks delicious!
i would love this, i am a green tea addict!
Love the photos! And love tea!
I’m so glad you posted pics of Greece today. I went to Athens in 2006, but Greece is extremely near and dear to me because its where I did my very FIRST archaeological excavation in 2008. I worked on a Bronze Age site in Thessaloniki. On a very clear day…you could see Mt. Olympus on the walk to the site. This just inspired me to go through all of my pictures and realize what lucky women we must be to have these opportunities to travel so young! Thanks for the great pics, I think next you should make some dolmades. ;-)
Also….toasted walnut green tea….HOW IS THAT EVEN A THING!?!?!?!? Omg.
I live for loose tea! I’ve never heard of Feel Good before; can’t wait to try!
And I’m just dying to go to Greece… my fam is already talking about maybe going next summer :)
Oooo I love tea! These sound yummy and just in time for autumn!
Your pictures are gorgeous!
Also, I’m a tea addict, so I would love to win this!!
I think that you had a fantastic honeymoon!!! I am super jealous. We both teach so it was hard to go on a nice trip after our fall wedding. One day we will have to spend some time in Europe in the summer. Keep the pic’s coming!
i envy your trip to Europe. what a great adventure you had.
Seeing your pictures brings me back to my Europe trip in August/September 2007. :)
Although I never did make it to Greece, one day though!
Those tea flavours sound delicious! Especially the Banana Bread.
The tea sounds great.
I am a huge tea drinker, my brother even owns a specialty tea shop in St Petersburg, FL, but the absolute worse tea I have ever had funnily enough was in the Mediterranean. Over-steeped (which I find is true of much of Europe too – even England!) and bitter, it was just nasty stuff. I would love to try the Feel Good teas.
I just found a loose-leaf tea pot for super cheap! So excited. Now I just need some quality teas… :)
Sigh…herbal and other teas….my kind of giveaway~ Thanks!
I LOVE TEA!!!!! These sound amazing. :)
