Congrats, ladies! I will send out an email this morning to collect your mailing address. Thanks again to everyone who participated and to Blendtec for donating the two blenders.
If you’re looking for recipes today, well you aren’t out of luck. I’m sharing 3 holiday recipes over on VegNews today – Shepherd’s Stew, Mashed Potatoes (a new twist on my fav high-protein version), and my Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Have a good one! I’ll see you on Monday.
I can’t wait for the right cold night to try the stew. It looks like perfect comfort food.
congrats on raising that amount for the Snady relief. It’s truly admirable.

Just now, I ventured to your website for fabulous holiday menu ideas; and low and behold, you are featuring some pretty dishes!!! Yay! And super bravo on the relief collection. I’d say amazing, but you seem like a Type A perfectionist, so I would not expect anything less, thus it is not amazing. Instead, I shall say fabulous. Simply fabulous. Thank you for your compassion. It’s a breath of fresh air!
Congrats to the winners, congrats on your blogiversary, and WAY TO GO with your fundraising efforts!!!
Omg, I have to try out that Toffee Pudding Cake (with a few modifications to make it completely healthy). Thank you for showing us! Haha, I am very jealous of the contest winners, and of course congratulations on the amazing effort you put into the fund raising.
I’ve been looking for something like this Stick Toffee Pudding. But also been thinking to try to steam a pudding rather than bake; which renders more cakey. Have you ever tried this?
Congrats on the fundraising!
That’s so awesome! You surpassed your goal by a whole lot! Congrats!
I wanted to let you know that I used a modified version of your lentil walnut loaf for a Vegan Fall Feast Workshop I ran yesterday and it was a huge hit! I’ll be e-mailing them the recipe and linking them back to your site. Thanks for your great food and all that you do!
I have a challenge for you! I know you’re smart and you can do it! December 15th is my holiday potluck for the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve where I work as a Docent, its a fancy word for volunteer! I’m the only vegan and I need to make a dish for 10 people I was looking through your recipes and wanted to know what you thought would be best? I have to compete with like 30 grandmas and their secret recipes! So if you could help me come up with some ideas I’d be SUPER grateful! :) I’m making your homemade rolos for dessert!
Wow! Amazing job. The photos of your food are amazing as always. That toffee looks sinfully delicious!
Your recipes look amazing! I, too, am blown away that you were able to raise over $10,000. What a fabulous idea. I’m sure many people will be blessed by the donations.
Sticky Toffee Pudding sounds amazing. I mean..the soup looks good, but let’s face it. Toffee pudding trumps soup every single time.
congratulations on the fundraising!!! your hard work for such a great cause is very admirable.
i made the bean version of your mashed potatoes last year and LOVED them (as did my family)…i was planning to make them again, but how would you say the lentil version compares, taste-wise?
Hi Heather, I would say I prefer the lentil version has a slight upper hand only because I found their taste is completely undetectable. The only thing I would do differently next time is try mashing it by hand instead of using the processor. Glad the previous recipe was a hit last year! Let me know how this one goes if you try it out.
The sticky toffee pudding looked so good that I made it that night! And it was absolutely delicious. At first I served it with the soy ice cream but then I used the coconut whipped cream instead and it was even better. All the non-vegans that tried it loved it also!
Im so glad you enjoyed it Leyla!
That stew is hands down the best stew I have ever tasted! So fresh, yet rich and comforting. It was a hit in my household! I can’t wait to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow :-)
I made the stew last night and it was oh so very yummy in my tummy! The flavors just melded together so well and I loved using herbs de provence. Those made all the difference in the flavor and taste. Thanks for yet another terrific recipe Angela!
I made the stew for dinner tonight and it was delicious. Thank you!
Has anyone made the stew in a crock pot?
I am IN LOVE with the shepherd’s stew, it’s sooooo delicious. I’m headed home for thanksgiving and am making an alternative veg meal – I’m wondering if you think it might be possible to toss it into a baking dish, and put a pot pie crust on top, and bake it while the meat-eaters’ turkey sets? Would you cut the stovetop cooking time down? Many thanks!
