My day, that is!

I was on a business call not too long ago and I looked down at the time and it was almost 1pm! Holy moly! The good news is today is going excellent on the business front! I am getting lots done and making lots of progress. So what is the fun news to tell you all? Well, I am hoping that I have everything I need for US shipping now! This week, I will be sending out two ‘test’ packages to the US with all of my required documents. I am hoping and praying that it works ok, and I haven’t missed anything. If this goes well, then I hope to be shipping to the US in a couple weeks! :) Say a little prayer for me! haha!

As per my Green Monster Challenge, I am making a new green monster recipe each day of the month of July!

Today’s green monster concoction was very simple, but very delicious!

Amazing Chocolate Green Monster

by Angela

The ingredients:

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 cubes ice
  • 3 cups steamed spinach (helps with calcium absorption!)
  • 1 scoop Amazing Grass Chocolate Meal powder (or 1 T cocoa + sweetener)
  • Squirt of Kyolic garlic extract

Sketchie sighting!!!!

I am now certain that my favourite Amazing Grass powder is the Chocolate Infusion Meal powder!!! The good thing about it is that I didn’t need ANY fruit to sweeten this mixture up! The powder has a tiny bit of cane sugar in it (the perfect amount if you ask me)- just 6 grams of sugar for 1 large scoop.

IMG_9470 It is so versatile. Sometimes I mix it into my GM’s for a chocolaty delight and other times I mix it with just regular H20 for a much healthier chocolate ‘milk’ drink.

I think what makes Amazing Grass so ‘blendable’ in GM’s is the fact that the powder is SO fine. Just look!

IMG_9477

When it is added into a GM, you really don’t notice it at all. Not like other powders I have tried.

Now, if you don’t have Amazing Grass Chocolate infusion, not to worry! You can try substituting the powder for 1 Tablespoon (approx) of cocoa and a bit of liquid sweetener (honey, agave, etc). A reader told me about adding cocoa to her GM and it reminded me how much I liked mine when I did that. Now you won’t get all the health benefits as you will from AG products, but it is a good substitution in a pinch!

I will be adding this recipe to my Recipes page over at Green Monster Movement!

I broke for lunch around 1pm and boy was I hungry! Sometimes, when I am really busy and getting lots done I totally forget about lunch! I had leftovers from yesterday, so I quickly turned it into a healthy and fast meal!

I loved my lunch so much yesterday, I made a similar stir-fry for dinner last night!

IMG_9496

It included:

  • Frozen veggie mix (carrots, corn, green beans, peas) – Eric’s fav mix! lol
  • Salt Free BBQ Sauce
  • St Ives Veggie Ground Round
  • Black crushed pepper

I heated up the leftovers, threw it in a pita, and had the rest in a bowl:

 IMG_9490

I also had the most delicious organic apple ever!! I don’t know what kind this is, but it is AH-mazing!

IMG_9493

I am now re-fueled and ready to get back to work! :)

I upgraded to Quickbooks Pro today after realizing how limited the basic version is! Wow, they really know how to screw over their consumers, don’t they? For me to ‘simply’ change the background colour in a textbox on my invoice I had to upgrade to the PRO version ($115 more!!!). They purposely created the basic version so it basically is useless unless you have no need for any basic functions, lol. I called today and made sure I didn’t have to pay the full fee to upgrade even though I was past the 60 day trial. Luckily I didn’t have to pay the full $200! Sheesh.

Another reader recommended to me that I try using FedEx for my shipping to the states. After signing up for a business account, I found out that I can ship to the US much cheaper than I can using Canada Post! Sweet! Man, I have the best readers ever! lol. ;)

Don’t forget to enter the fun Amazing Grass contest for some awesome prizes!

I love this quote and I think it applies to our health:

You will never find time for anything. If you want the time, you must make it.
– Charles Buxton

We have to make time for our health and pencil it into our schedules, don’t you think?

Today’s question: Do you schedule workouts or fitness appointments? Do you write it into a calendar or scheduling system online? How far in advance do you plan your exercise? Does it help you stick with it better?

Does the Chocolate Amazing Meal taste a little grainy? I tried the Original Amazing Meal flavor and I just could not stand the texture one bit! I am actually going to return it :( I really can’t stomach it! The Amazing Grass Chocolate Superfood products are great though! As for my workouts, I tend to plan them a day in advance just so I know I can fit them in my schedule!

Hi Kathy, it has a slight powdery texture in my opinion, but it REALLY doesn’t bother me at all. I only notice it when I have it with water. I don’t notice the texture when I drink it in a Green Monster. I love the chocolate superfood too!

Yes, I schedule in my workouts and usually the day before. I have a spreadsheet that I made up and I check it off when I am done.

I definitely schedule workouts, at least in my head. But I have gotten to the point where eating healthfully and working out regularly is just part of the routine!

I have a calendar – that I do for the whole month. It’s a weekly routine and I have a different workout (although some days ever-so-slightly) every day of the week. However, like I said I make it at the beginning of the month, depending on what I’m focusing on the most (right now, it’s based around training for a 10k)

I’m glad you liked the chocolate green monster! Sounds yummy.

I don’t schedule workouts persay but I do make a mental plan each week. Generally, because of scheduling, Friday’s I never get a workout in. So I make an effort to hit the gym or pavement M-Th immediately afterwork, getting in at least 2 strength training sessions, usually Tu/Th. Saturdays are long “workouts” which entail outdoor activities weather permitting like a run/powerwalk/hike or inside racquetball/yoga/weights etc. I am pretty good at staying on track as long as I go straight to the gym after work and not stop by home. I do better once I am in a routin but as soon as I break it, it’s hard to get back on track and I’m usually off the rest of the week! eeks!

I am saying a little prayer for you and me! I hope everything goes well with the US shipping cuz then I can order some of those drool worthy products you offer!! yay!!

I made your Raw granola bars this Saturday and they turned out wonderful. Funny thing I posted them on the blog and forgot to add the picture. The picture and the bar both came out great!

I generally view my workouts as an extended part of my workday, so they’re naturally scheduled every weekday. I do 2-3 routines a week in rotation, then I usually plan out a new routine in a few weeks — so I guess I do plan everything out.

I’m a planner about EVERYTHING though. LOL

I schedule my workouts or else I would never go work out…a good example of this weekend when I took a break but I got back today because I had scheduled it.

As for shipping to US I am very excited and I do hope you are able to work out all the kinks…. now I am going to have to decide what I want to try first.

Woohoo! I’m excited that you may be able to ship to the US soon!! My birfday is in November, and maaannn, I want me some of your goodies.

(That was not a pick up line. I meant.. your treats… That wasn’t a pick up line either.. errr. Yummy stuff you bake! I want the stuff you– Oh eff it. You know what I’m talking about. :P )

Health to me is a “no option” thing. I don’t even think about scheduling anymore, it’s already in my day, along with everything else I have to do in my life. Some days I might take less care of it then others, but it *has* to be there because being unhealthy isn’t an option in my life. I have to take care of myself so that I’ll be balanced and ready to take on everything else in my life. I usually pick a time that’s conveniant for the day.. usually 4-6PM or 8:30-10PM and I go back and forth between strength training and intervals. -shrug-

I can’t wait to try AG for the first time tomorrow morning! I’m jumping to the GM bagon!!! :D
One quick question: how do you steam the spinach? do you microwave it or you steam it on stove? do you add water to it? and for how long?

I do plan my workout in general, scheduled how many times to do cardio and yoga, but then everyday depending on my mood I’ll do one or the other. It works for me although I don’t stick to it all the time. But it’s good to have a plan, right?

have a nice day! :)

I plan my workouts but the plan changes depending on the week. My boyfriend works evenings and I work days, so whenever he has a day off I always go straight from work to his place so that we have more time together.

Everyweek I ask him what his work schedule is (since his also changes every week) and the days that he works, I work out. The days that he has off I don’t work out. It works well and it gives me flexibility with my workouts (so that I don’t have the exact same workout every Monday for example).

I definitely write down my workouts in my planner and have a pretty consistent workout schedule. I adjust it when necessary, but try to adhere as closely as possible. I’m a schedule nerd, so it totally works for me.

I use Quickbooks every day for day to day stuff at work (I pay our bills and write all our checks and blah blah). It’s such an annoying program! Useful, but annoying.

I normally plan my workouts for the week on Sunday’s. But sometimes my plans get changed because I may be sore in a certain area that was unplanned!
