We are eating like kings around here lately. Whoever invented elastic waistbands…I think I love you/hate you. [If you didn’t hear the news in my last post, I’m working away on a second cookbook!]
For my first cookbook, I relied on a fabulous group of dedicated and passionate recipe testers who gave my recipes a whirl in their own kitchens and then provided detailed and honest feedback. Recipe testers are essential to the cookbook development process (just like your recipe reviews on this blog!) and I couldn’t have produced such a solid group of recipes without them. It really takes a village! I recruited family and friends mostly, but since I received a lot of interest from my blog readers, I decided to open it up to you this time around.
I’m looking for recipe testers of all different abilities, so if you are a new cook or a seasoned pro feel free to apply. You certainly don’t have to be vegan either. My passion is creating recipes that people with all kinds of diets can enjoy. Those of you who can commit to testing at least 3 recipes per week will be given top priority as we’ll need to move through the recipes at a good pace.
I’m also looking for testers who will…
follow recipes exactly as written (this isn’t the time to make substitutions, unless suggested in the recipe),
take notes while cooking (such as noting your prep time or any areas of confusion in the directions),
submit thorough feedback immediately following the recipe (there will be an electronic form with standardized questions for each recipe).
You will also need a blender and a food processor as some of the recipes require these tools.
One last thing. Do you love to stuff your face with super delicious food? Perfect. I knew we would hit it off.
If you think you’d like to apply, you can fill out this submission form below. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to take on everyone who applies, but thank you all for your generosity in offering your help!

I keep trying to submit my application and it rejects it without explaining why! Have I missed my chance?
Hi Angela,
It’s always been a dream of mine to help work on cookbooks! I’m an avid home cook and usually focus on wholesome whole food recipes — I’m always up for a good veggie rice bowl :) Currently I also work part time as a baker at a vegan/gluten-free bakery and contribute recipes to a couple sites. I’ve submitted an application and would love to get involved with your book!
Hi Angela!
This is such an exciting opportunity! Just wondering when you will be selecting the recipe testers! :) Hoping that I get selected!
Just submitted my application! Your website inspires me, and I use your cook book all the time. It would be an honor to be a part of round two!
Wow what a great opportunity – application is in! I got your cookbook for Christmas and am completely in LOVE :) I’m a budding vegan chef and I learn so much each time I work my way through one of your delicious recipes. Thanks for everything and good luck on your new cookbook!
x
Beth
Oh how I would love to be a part of this!! Fingers crossed it is not too late to be considered!!
What an awesome opportunity. After being diagnosed with cancer 5 yrs ago, I stumbled across your website and was blessed with the delishessness (is that even a word?) And wholesomeness of your food. I dont work and LOVE cooking, this would certainly fill my days with a passion and my husband would be stoked
Would love to be a recipe tester!
I was very ill over the holidays and am and have been recovering by drinking green juices and smoothies and by following a vegan/vegetarian diet. I was a vegetarian for 8 years in the past, but ended up with vitamin/mineral imbalances. When I cook your recipes, I know, I can feel it, that this is completely different. There is balance and vitality.
Like others I wondered about the title of the book. But I get it now. It makes total sense. It’s a way of being and living.
Forget about all that horrid stuff we tend to eat mindlessly. And why do we? Your recipes are so amazing and easy to make. Why waste time on the really not so good? Especially when, with a little guidance, we all can work at becoming vibrant and healthy human beings from the inside out.
Hi Angela! I have been following you since I became vegan about 2 years ago. I would like to test your recipes and submit honest feedback. I have a baby same age as yours and a toddler that’s why I like quick and easy recipes like yours.
Soooo excited for the new cookbook!!! We already make recipes 3-5 times a week from the first book or the blog, so committing to 3x would be no problem ;) My husband still eats dairy but I’ve cut it out due to my sons food sensitivities (he’s a few months older than your sweet girl and still breastfeeding). Thanks to you I hardly miss the dairy at all!!
I am an avid cook, currently enrolled in a Nutritional Therapy course, and would be thrilled to be a tester! I am just learning what I can eat and what I cannot and I am searching for recipes that I can incorporate into my newly prescribed diet.
I have Hashimoto and Graves Disease. Just over a week ago, my Naturopathic Doctor removed gluten, dairy and caffeine from my diet to slow down my thyroid. She also recommended your site and I love it!!!
A second cookbook sounds very exciting. My daughter introduced me to the OSG cookbook when her Dad had a triple by pass surgery, and we wanted to start eating healthy. She tried most of your recipes and I have too tired alot of them as well. We are very happy with the recipes.I just made the PNB balls for a function and I had the recipe beside the items on the table . The speakers that got up to speak that nite complimented on the PNB balls, and was thrilled to have the recipe. I then told them of the cookbook that I used “OH SHE GLOWS” and they wanted to purchase one for their families. I would love to be chosen as a recipe tester as I lost my job in December and have alot of valuable time to try the recipes and its a win win situation. My husband will be eating more healthy and I get to do what I love to do the most is cook and bake. When I was little I used to send for recipe books by saving boxtops, etc and it was such great memories of trying the recipes. My Mom cut her finger one day and I had to make homemade bread for her as she couldn’t put her hands into the dough.. I was only 9 yrs old and the bread came out so yummy that day..She put the huge pan of dough on a chair for me to mix. She has passed away and I have such great memories of my Mom and I baking at home.
This sounds exactly what I would love to do! I already cook your meals at home at least one a day! I love the way you cook! I got your first cookbook for christmas and have almost run through every recipe ( some have become staples). how lucky I was to find your blog when I became a vegan in may 2014.
You are awesome and my husband and two boys thank you too!!!!
Hi Angela – pick me, pick me!!!
My niece just told me about your new cookbook and suggested that I would be an awesome recipe tester…. She’d like me to try out ALL of your recipes for she and her 2 new adopted children (as you might imagine she is a bit busy to do this herself!). Sha gave me your cookbook and I am now the Glo Bar queen!
I know I am late to the process but cooking and making notes are what I love to do! Maybe I could fill in for a drop-out if you’ve already selected your testers!
Hi Angela,
Just wondering if you have picked your recipe testers yet?
Thanks
Diane
I adore your first book and cannot wait for your second. I ended up buying a second copy of the first book for the lending library at our preschool and so far every mom who has borrowed it has bought it – none of them are even close to vegan. Yes! You’re doing great work here!
I’m a new follower and I just purchased your cookbook (it was recommended by simplegreensmoothies.com)! The month of February has been / will be committed to their FreshStart21 program and is the first time I’ve ever tried veggie / vegan food. I can’t believe how delicious it all is! Thank you (and all other bloggers) for sharing your love of REAL food.
I’m super not vegan but I enjoy great food. I recently tried your cauliflower alfredo sauce and lemme tell ya, it’s the real deal. I added a handful of spinach (because I had it on hand) and baby bellas and I didn’t even miss the parm. Thanks for taking the fad out of vegetarian cooking and making it about great food that just happens to be vegan.
Hi Angela! I guess I am too late! I tried submitting the application form, but it does not seem to go through. Is this because you’ve been inundated with requests? I’m sad if that is the case, but still ever grateful for all the goodness you give us on your blog! I am a French-trained chef, now vegetarian, looking to add more clean, whole food recipes to my repertoire. To that end, I am deliciously working my way through your first book…and converting many of my friends and family in the process! Thank you so much!
So excited to hear you are doing another cook book!! I bought 3 different cook books last year. Yours was the one with a lie , the favorite, the one I go back to over and over. Each recipe I have tried has been awesome and not just with me, but family and extended family and we are all carnivores!! Thank you so much for such a great cookbook and now I eagerly look forward to number 2!!
I mean “without a lie”
