Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!

This package includes the new precision tuned 4″ blade in the large nearly 3-quart total capacity BPA-free jar. The new large blade / large jar combination powers through tougher blending tasks and larger recipes with ease, and in less time.”

I would tell myself to do what makes me happy…not other people so much. Enjoy the freedom and energy of youth! There’s nothing quite as invigorating!
I’d tell my old self to stop worrying so much. I remember freaking out about getting into the high school program I wanted, then the university program I wanted and so on… In the end I got what I wanted but it could have involved much less anxiety

Pinned this recipe I’ve been wanting to try!

I’ve repinned one of your recipes! It was the Strawberry Basil Dressing! :)
I would tell myself not to take everything so seriously!
Live in the present!
I would tell myself to listen to my gut because it is spot on and make choices that make YOU happy, not to spend your energy trying to make everyone else happy because if those that really love you will be happy when you are happy with you! You rock and you deserve to be happy, don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!
Dear lil Nicole, Life is not a race. You have forever to be old so long as you take care of yourself early on. Oh, and never, ever judge anyone.
I would say to go vegan because it will cure your digestive issues, make you feel great and let you feel healthy for the first time. Also stay true to your heart and never question your relationship with that boy because he will make you so happy and he’ll end up being your husband!
Just pinned your High Protein Quinoa and Berry Salad–one of my favorites–to Pinterest.
i would tell my younger self to not get so caught up in what others think about me and to just be myself.
I would tell my 16 year old self to stop being so self conscious. No one is paying attention to you, they’re too busy worrying about themselves!
My advice? Quit the fast food AHEAD of time & get to the gym.
I spent years & years shoveling bad food into my mouth & have finally started to reverse the process.. but it’s taken years to remove the bad from my body (along with over 100 pounds!)..
Would love to shake my younger self & tell her to start early.

I would tell my younger self to stop caring so much about what others think. As long as you are true to yourself that’s the only one that really matters. And most of those people you cared so much about how they saw you turned out not be so awesome after all.
I would tell my younger self that there is way better food to live off of than Pepsi and Cheetos! Oh, if only I’d tried kale sooner…
I would tell myself to enjoy the freedom that you have and to not focus on the money so much. Take that summer job at the Camp, who cares how much it is going to pay you compared to your other job. Travel after University, rather than coming back home to that job. The experiences are what matter and what we take with us wherever we go. Money should not control every part of your existence.
Oh I REALLY want this blender!!! I would tell my 16 year old self to accept myself as I am and stop worrying about how I compare to other people.
I would tell my 16 year old self to not stress and worry so much, to trust that God has a special plan for your life and to just live each day to the fullest.
Don’t rock the tutu to high school. It’s not a good look.
