Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!

I would tell my younger self to eat her veggies, get to yoga, and to stop taking herself so seriously. I would show her how much harder she will make her teenage years by trying to be someone else, and by running away from her sensitivity instead of seeing it as an asset.
Dear Younger Self: wear more sunscreen! Temporary tans just aren’t worth the permanent wrinkles.
I would tell my 16 year old self to have a healthier relationship with food! Just because we all love the “treats” once in a while, doesn’t mean we have to feel guilty. I would also tell my younger self to enjoy every second with my family!! Granted, I spent a lot of time with them and did appreciate them. What I didn’t realize was that, as an adult, my parents would become my best friends!!
Keep your head in the game
Keep your feet on the ground
Keep your heart on your sleeve
and remember – when all is said in done – you always have family
Thanks for the giveaway!
Don’t worry so much. Everything will work out, it always does. :)
i would tell my younger self to enjoy myself and not work so hard. There’s plenty of time for that later.
Younger self, DON’T STOP PLAYING SPORTS!, it’s so much harder to start again.
I would tell my younger self to not be afraid to stand up for yourself,

Feel comfortable in the skin you are in; be the best version of yourself you can be.
I would tell myself to not doubt myself so much and work harder at the things I loved to do. Looking back I wish I had spent more of the time I had practicing voice and piano, for instance. Now that I’m older I’m trying to catch up on lost opportunity.
I’d tell my younger self not to worry so much. Dr.Seuss was right – those who matter won’t mind and those who mind won’t matter!!!
I would tell myself to believe that God does exist and to follow after Jesus – it would have spared me A LOT of bad decisions.
(and thanks for the opportunity to enter this great giveaway!)
Dear younger me,
Please listen to your heart. People will come into your life and tell you what the “smart” thing to do is, they will tell you to be rational and to be logical and to do what makes the most sense. Don’t listen to them. What makes your heart happy? What gets you excited about life? Follow your passions, because they are given to you by a great God.
15-year-old Anne, high school is tough, and there are going to be a lot of rough days, but LEARN from everything that comes your way, and take joy in trials. Be kind and patient, hone these skills, and you will see yourself transform.
I’d tell my younger self not to worry as much. Looking back, everything turned out just like it’s supposed to, and I’ve finally learned to be mindful of the here and now, as it always will turn out that way.
I would tell my younger self to be nicer to my mom..she is a pretty cool lady after all. Thanks so much for the giveaway, and congratulations on four years of blogging!
I would tell my younger self that things do get better eventually, and not to give up.
I pinned the Crispy Twix Bars recipe!!
