Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!

I pinned your glazed Lentil Loaf, which is epically delicious. Thanks for all the hard work you do Ange, your readers love you for it.
I would explain to my 16 year old self the love that comes from my parents that i had decided at the time was them being mean (how dare they not let me out all hours of the night like my friends!) was the best thing in the world. To listen to them, REALLY listen to their advice and opinions, because all they ever want is for my brother and I to be happy and the best possible version of ourselves.
I would tell my younger self…Take those darn driving lessons and get your driver;s license. I would also tell her to be more kind to herself, do not listen to the naysayers and dream big!
I tweeted :)
It’s OK to make mistakes! Life will be much more fun if you are not so hard on yourself.
I just pinned your “Frankensoup” recipe! I would LOVE to be able to use that new blender to make this yummy soup!!
Let go of self-doubt and insecurities! Let your inner voice be your guide and everything will work out just as it should. And be just as kind to everyone else.
I’d tell myself, life is short, be and do what you love and you will love your life.
I would advise my 16 year old self have more confidence in my magnificent self and stop worrying so much about what I wasn’t and appreciate the beauty I was : ))

I pinned your Coconut Whipped cream….the best recipes are the simplest sometimes as clearly whipped topping is a necessity for most treats ;-) in fact, gonna whip some up tomorrow!
don’t lose track of close friends. if you draw to far into yourself you’ll look up one day and find they’ve all drifted away.
Take care of yourself. God only gives you one body and when you are older sometimes it is too late to fix the mistakes or misuses. Be good to yourself!
Listen to the ones who love you the most. Follow your instincts
I would tell my younger self to go for it-move out of state, try that job you think is way out of your abilities, follow your interests not just what you can do. You’ll meet new people, see new places and do things you won’t do after you get married and buy a house. DO IT!
The blender would be AWESOME for creating all sorts of goodies along with green smoothies!
Thank you!
