Good Monday morning!
Well, no matter how my appointment and work go today, at least I know I got a delicious and healthy start to my day!
I made a new smoothie concoction and I loooved it. I got the idea to use canned pumpkin from Kath yesterday! I also decided to add some fresh parsley that we have in the fridge to use up.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Breeze
- 1/4 cup original Almond Breeze
- 8 sprigs of Parsley
- 1 large Kale leaf (need to buy more of this tonight!)
- 1/3 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 ripe medium sized banana
- 1 Tbsp. flax

I loved this smoothie concoction! The pumpkin made it soooo smooth and velvety. The Parsley gave it a fresh & mint-like kick. I will definitely be adding it again. I was worried that it would be too much, but it was perfect! Yum!
I am having so much fun experimenting with smoothies. :) The possibilities are really endless.

The addition of pumpkin sounds delicious, but I still don’t know if if I’d be brave enough to drink that!
l like that pumpkin addition, smoothies are so fun!
Good luck today :)
Love the pumpkin addition… I went with raspberry, vanilla protein and a splash of milk and flax. But yours looks yummy!

DEFINITELY a wonderful start to your day – enjoy!! :-)
Yum pumpkin! I could really taste mine. I can’t wait for summertime and then I will start making more green smoothies. I love the concept!
One kick-ass green smoothie recipe coming up for you to try:
100 g fresh babyspinach (regular spinach is fine as well)
Juice of 1 orange
1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cucumber (optional)
1 banana
Zest of ½-1 lemon (depending on how ripe your banana is – very ripe = zest of 1 lemon, not so ripe = zest of ½ lemon)
Water or rice milk/almond milk to cover
Just blend it up and enjoy!
Try adding some icecubes or a few frozen strawberries for getting it really cold…
It’s amazingly fresh – and healthy!
the smoothie looks great! pumpkin is such a great idea! i just might have to try that! hope all goes well at your appt!
stiill haven’t gotten too creative with veggies in my smoothies but will have to try, hey girl I love all your long sleeve running tops where do you get them?
you’ve really got me interested with these green smoothies!! i have got to try one, i’m a little nervous! i once made one with spinach, soy milk, and frozen mangoes and i really liked it. how does it make you feel during the day/ energized? can you tell a difference if you drink it one day and not the next?
I love smoothies, and with pumpkin yum yum! I still am not brave enought o try with greens though!
Yumm…I love berry smoothies! I usually have one every afternoon…in fact I am drinking one now! So delish!
I love your green smoothie kick! I usually do mango, berries and a bunch of spinach – tastes great! Although I have a hard time drinking them during the winter…I seem to gravitate towards warmer breakfasts in the winter, cold breakfasts in the summer. Good luck with your appt today!
