Christmas In November

IMG_7458

Who knew my brother Chris and sis-in-law Nicole were such crazy Christmas people???

Oh my gosh their house is a winter wonderland!!! I was in pure heaven. :D :D

IMG_7437

I’m so decorating as soon as we get home!!!!

IMG_7454

I wonder if they carry these at dollarstore?? haha

IMG_6287

Our night was fun! Chris and Nic have my DREAM house. It is a huge log cabin and it is filled with antique furniture. I am in love.

IMG_6285

I always feel like we are staying in a cabin at a ski lodge!

Our room:

Kitchen/dining:

My stocking!?!?! ;)

We had great food…I devoured the veggie tray with my ‘gourmet’ dip (which was a huge hit!).

Shrimp ring and veggie platter:

Mary’s Crackers and my salsa + hummus dip        Crab dip + tortillas:

IMG_6299IMG_6300

I’m soooo not used to salty nuts (and there is really no better way I could have said that!!!)

IMG_6302

Not a big salt fan. Raw, unsalted nuts rule. lolololol.

And last but not least…I brought my new HOLIDAY GLO BAR!!! In mini sample bites:

IMG_6214

Everyone raved about them. I’m so excited to reveal them soon!

We had a mini dance party/workout/gambling…

IMG_6308

Seriously, who has a house like this!?!?

They do… ;) This is what working a gazillion jobs can get you I guess!

IMG_6455

IMG_6311

My brother loves toys.

IMG_6310

Kerrie and I did mini workouts during the night. ;) With Santa and crew apparently…

IMG_6365   I felt strong!!!

IMG_6403

Despite all this booze, I only had 2 beers and 1 shot ALL night!!!! GO ME!!!! I felt so much better than last weekend.

Harassing our brother…clean faster!!!

IMG_6456

I fell asleep just after 2am and was up at 7ish.

IMG_7476

Meet Shekey and Panther:

IMG_6485

I got up and thought about how awesome I would feel if I worked out. And I somehow convinced myself to just go downstairs and do it while everyone was sleeping!!!! I made a green tea and a vitamin water and guzzled both.

IMG_7481

Running on 5 hours sleep. The first 20 minutes were brutal (aren’t they always?). I watched Planet Earth (The Future disc). It is the only disc I hadn’t seen yet so I was pumped to watch it. Have you guys watched the Planet Earth series?? Oh my gosh they are a MUST see!!! I switch between feeling awe-inspired and depressed/discouraged all at once.

IMG_7489

I did 50 mins on the elliptical at a very hard resistance/pace (10-14) and I pushed hard. I was dripping in sweat after. I finished with some light yoga and abs:

IMG_7503   IMG_7499

After showering, I felt amazing!!!! I had a wonderful brekkie. A plate filled with fruit and my high-protein black eyed pea cakes. I need to tweak this recipe more before I reveal it.

IMG_7523IMG_7526 IMG_7521IMG_7524

I had 3 pea cakes and twice the fruit as shown on the plate. Green tea of course.

I’m currently blogging from the car using Eric’s wireless USB as he is on call for work. Awesome. It sure made this 2 hour drive fly by! We’re almost home…

Unfortunately, I have to bake 200 Glo Bars today, so there will be no rest for me today! Work hard, play hard.

~~~~~~
A HUGE congrats to the lovely Kath, Tina, Caitlin, and Jenna for taking home Foodbuzz awards!!!!  You ladies are nothing short of inspiring, hard-working, and dedicated role models for so many. Congrats to everyone else who won too (I’m not sure who else did!).
Peace out!
Are you big into decorating for the holidays? When do you start?
For me, the earlier the better. I want to start decorating this week if I can find the time!
What an amazing home!!! You have a beautiful fam :)
Im not a huge decorator because the hub and I are never at “home” for any big holiday. We live in NC but always travel up to PA and NJ to be with our families.
For no specific reason, I just need to re-iterate how awesome you are and how much I enjoy following your blog. Have a great rest of the weekend!
Dang, that’s an amazing house! Looks like you all had a great time!
Reply
Cynthia (It All Changes) November 8, 2009
That house is awesome. I always love the log cabin look.
We don’t really decorate our apartment for Christmas just because its only the two of us and we don’t have a ton of time due to work at Christmas.
But we do decorate our church insides with the congregation. We have a party the Sunday after thanksgiving to decorate after church. We order pizza and then play some games, do some crafts and decorate our little hearts out :-)
I want that house. I want a log cabin in CO. See if I ever make enough to have it! I would like to decorate early, but we rarely do before Thanksgiving usually the day after.
Reply
Lizzie November 8, 2009
I am always kind of proud of myself for a run on 5 hours sleep – it means I have a good chance of still having energy to run if I have a baby! :) I find the first mile is yuck on any run, but then it’s waaaayyy better. Their home gym is amazing. One of my friends is concocting one of those in their new house (going from a 1 bed condo to a 4 bed house!). Can’t wait to read the new recipes.
A big part of holiday decorating for me are SCENTS. So I always start with fancy candles (with cute candlesticks), plants, wreaths, and even a bit of that piney air spray stuff–just a tad!
Looks like you had so much fun!
Reply
Bethany November 8, 2009
Oh my goodness! This makes me want to decorate!!! We usually don’t do it until after Turkey Day, but maybe we will do it earlier this year! :)
Hi Angela,
Just wanted to let you know I made your PBJ glo bites yesterday and they are fantastic! I’m enjoying one as an afternoon snack right now… I must confess though, I did de-veganise the recipe with normal milk and butter, and I used cashew butter instead of peanut butter. But they still worked fabulously! I wish your bakery could deliver internationally! (I’m in Brisbane, Australia)
That house is amazing!! I love decorating for the holidays, but most of our x-mas stuff is in storage since Germany houses do not have very many places to store things. I’m hoping to go crazy next year when we are back in the states! :) Those glo bars looked scrumptious!!
