Who knew my brother Chris and sis-in-law Nicole were such crazy Christmas people???
Oh my gosh their house is a winter wonderland!!! I was in pure heaven.
I’m so decorating as soon as we get home!!!!
I wonder if they carry these at dollarstore?? haha
Our night was fun! Chris and Nic have my DREAM house. It is a huge log cabin and it is filled with antique furniture. I am in love.
I always feel like we are staying in a cabin at a ski lodge!
Our room:
Kerrie and Steve’s room:
Entry way:
Chris and Shelby:
Kitchen/dining:
My stocking!?!?!
We had great food…I devoured the veggie tray with my ‘gourmet’ dip (which was a huge hit!).
Shrimp ring and veggie platter:
Mary’s Crackers and my salsa + hummus dip Crab dip + tortillas:
I’m soooo not used to salty nuts (and there is really no better way I could have said that!!!)
Not a big salt fan. Raw, unsalted nuts rule. lolololol.
And last but not least…I brought my new HOLIDAY GLO BAR!!! In mini sample bites:
Everyone raved about them. I’m so excited to reveal them soon!
We had a mini dance party/workout/gambling…
Seriously, who has a house like this!?!?
They do…
This is what working a gazillion jobs can get you I guess!
My brother loves toys.
Kerrie and I did mini workouts during the night.
With Santa and crew apparently…
Despite all this booze, I only had 2 beers and 1 shot ALL night!!!! GO ME!!!! I felt so much better than last weekend.
Harassing our brother…clean faster!!!
I fell asleep just after 2am and was up at 7ish.
Meet Shekey and Panther:
I got up and thought about how awesome I would feel if I worked out. And I somehow convinced myself to just go downstairs and do it while everyone was sleeping!!!! I made a green tea and a vitamin water and guzzled both.
Running on 5 hours sleep. The first 20 minutes were brutal (aren’t they always?). I watched Planet Earth (The Future disc). It is the only disc I hadn’t seen yet so I was pumped to watch it. Have you guys watched the Planet Earth series?? Oh my gosh they are a MUST see!!! I switch between feeling awe-inspired and depressed/discouraged all at once.
I did 50 mins on the elliptical at a very hard resistance/pace (10-14) and I pushed hard. I was dripping in sweat after. I finished with some light yoga and abs:
After showering, I felt amazing!!!! I had a wonderful brekkie. A plate filled with fruit and my high-protein black eyed pea cakes. I need to tweak this recipe more before I reveal it.
I had 3 pea cakes and twice the fruit as shown on the plate. Green tea of course.
I’m currently blogging from the car using Eric’s wireless USB as he is on call for work. Awesome. It sure made this 2 hour drive fly by! We’re almost home…
Unfortunately, I have to bake 200 Glo Bars today, so there will be no rest for me today! Work hard, play hard.
~~~~~~
A HUGE congrats to the lovely Kath, Tina, Caitlin, and Jenna for taking home Foodbuzz awards!!!! You ladies are nothing short of inspiring, hard-working, and dedicated role models for so many. Congrats to everyone else who won too (I’m not sure who else did!).
Peace out!
Working 8 jobs? Yikes!
Glad you had a good time!
I haven’t watch the Planet Earth series though I am curious about it because I’ve heard it’s pretty awesome.
Good luck with the baking!
Okay, they have an UNBELIEVABLE home. I want that! All of that!! And I can’t believe the fully stocked bar… talk about fancy!!
In other news, I am now going to watch a Christmas movie. All because of this post. I LOVE Christmas!!!!!!
Wow, that is a gorgeous house! You could live there too with a few more years of glo bars I think! haha
Looks like you had fun though
I can’t wait for those holiday glo bars!!! This is the first year I have lived by myself but I am definitely planning on some christmas lights at the bare minimum!
I have started putting up the trees this weekend, I like a long Christmas so i can enjoy it longer. Cute pics.
that house is amazing, that would be such a nice escape to go to, and have that home gym, thats what i would like someday.
good luck baking today! you can do it!
WOW! That is Christmas to the max! We plan on decorating together and will get a small little fake tree to put ornaments on this year.
I can’t believe how gorgeous their house is, and how bit it is too! What an awesome workout room, and the bar area is so fun.
After I read your post I said to Steve “so I want to start decorating the house for Christmas this week.” I LOVE all the decorations they have. That just got me into the spirit
That is the most beautiful home I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous.
What an amazing home!!! You have a beautiful fam
Im not a huge decorator because the hub and I are never at “home” for any big holiday. We live in NC but always travel up to PA and NJ to be with our families.
Angela, that is some pretty elaborate decor! Your new glo bars sound just awesome. I can’t wait to hear more about those and your black eye pea cakes! Wow! For no specific reason, I just need to re-iterate how awesome you are and how much I enjoy following your blog. Have a great rest of the weekend!
what an amazing house… you can imagine it being situated in lapland… and Santa’s elves lifving there…too cute xxx
What a fun night!! I am in love with your brothers house
This is the first year that I have had my ‘own’ apartment, so I can’t wait to decorate. I have no idea where to start??
That house is seriously INCREDIBLE! So So jealous!
Dang, that’s an amazing house! Looks like you all had a great time!
That house is awesome. I always love the log cabin look.
We don’t really decorate our apartment for Christmas just because its only the two of us and we don’t have a ton of time due to work at Christmas.
But we do decorate our church insides with the congregation. We have a party the Sunday after thanksgiving to decorate after church. We order pizza and then play some games, do some crafts and decorate our little hearts out
What a gorgeous house! Hope that santa stocking was for you
I always think it would lovely to decorate for christmas but never do :O We always go to someone else’s wonderfully decorated house and let them deal with the tidying up :S
What a cool house! Looks like you had fun, I love Christmas decorations!!
xo
What an incredible lodge!!! I would LOVE to live there year round… then again, it has a certain special feel when you just get to visit once!
Sounds like you had an incredible time. Your holiday glow bars look really yummy!!! Good on you for getting that workout in – I don’t think I’d have the motivation to do that
awww what a gorgeous house!!! it makes me want to go to canada now – i love the wood/cabin/snowy feel
i usually start playing christmas music and decorating my dorm around the day after thanksgiving lol. you are certainly strong, your arms look like michelle obamas in that pic
i love you in turquoise!!!
Ohmygosh, I’m in love with that house too!!!! and that home gym. Actually, I think I would take a home gym over a nice house
Wow – their house is amazing! And huge!!!!
I absolutely LOVE decorating for the holidays. We usually do it the last weekend in November or the first in December. I can’t wait to decorate my whole house and start baking!
Gorgeous house! I love log cabins!
I also love christmas and all those decorations are fantastic! I am SO ready to start decorating.
-K
What a gorgeous house! You’ve got me in the christmas spirit with all those photos! lol
Beautiful home, and AMAZING home gym. WOW!
Way to go on the post late night workout.
WOW! You weren’t joking when you said they had a phenomial house – those pics are gorgeous – that is definitely a DREAM home – I can see why you didn’t want to leave today
Glad you had a wonderful night
xoxo
That house looks so cool. Like something out of a movie. Looks like you had a great time.
Omnomnom! Those new globars look scrumptralescent.
Also– I just ran my first Half Marathon this morning and now I completely understand the feeling of not wanting to take off the medal. Ever.
They can bury me with this!
ABSOLUTELY Love That House! I’m sure you felt like a million bucks after your morning workout =) I know I always do.
I want that house. I want a log cabin in CO. See if I ever make enough to have it! I would like to decorate early, but we rarely do before Thanksgiving usually the day after.
I am always kind of proud of myself for a run on 5 hours sleep – it means I have a good chance of still having energy to run if I have a baby!
I find the first mile is yuck on any run, but then it’s waaaayyy better. Their home gym is amazing. One of my friends is concocting one of those in their new house (going from a 1 bed condo to a 4 bed house!). Can’t wait to read the new recipes.
love that house! good job on the workout
Those black eyed pea cakes look amazing! Can’t wait to see the recipe!
I am soooo ready for Christmas!
Their house looks so cool! I can see why you love it. I also am a huge Christmas freak. I had a super busy weekend but am starting to decorate next weekend. Can’t wait.
That house is amazing!!! I plan on decorating after Turkey Day.
i am glad you had such an amazing night! I fully support the decorations now…light up that house of yours!
A big part of holiday decorating for me are SCENTS. So I always start with fancy candles (with cute candlesticks), plants, wreaths, and even a bit of that piney air spray stuff–just a tad!
Looks like you had so much fun!
Oh my goodness! This makes me want to decorate!!! We usually don’t do it until after Turkey Day, but maybe we will do it earlier this year!
Hi Angela,
Just wanted to let you know I made your PBJ glo bites yesterday and they are fantastic! I’m enjoying one as an afternoon snack right now… I must confess though, I did de-veganise the recipe with normal milk and butter, and I used cashew butter instead of peanut butter. But they still worked fabulously! I wish your bakery could deliver internationally! (I’m in Brisbane, Australia)
their home is beautiful!! looks like you had so much fun!
i can’t believe it’s almost the christmas season already…wow. feels like it was just summer!
oh my goodness! that house is like my dream house! it is beautiful! im so glad you had a great time =)
Wow I wish I could decorate now too!! I love getting stuff up as early as possible. Their house is absolutely beautiful. Looks like such a great weekend
Wow – that is my dream house! It almost doesn’t look real.
Thank you for your blogs Angela, i have just got married and am trying to fight off the post wedding blues – i got through the weekend by catching up on your blog and doing some baking – i love your blog!
Have a great week x
That house is amazing!! I love decorating for the holidays, but most of our x-mas stuff is in storage since Germany houses do not have very many places to store things. I’m hoping to go crazy next year when we are back in the states!
Those glo bars looked scrumptious!!
This looks like my dream house!!
Wow…What a house! Their home gym looks like a real gym! I am so jealous!
I am also jealous of that home gym! I’m sure that is so nice in those cold winters!!!
Christmas decorations are so much fun and I can’t wait to put them up in my house.
THanks for the shout out!!
