I’m Shopping In The Rain

Juuust Shopping in the raaaiin….*sings* :D

Today’s weather was the PITS! Horrible! I want a free Saturday redeemed to me at once! lol. It piss poured rain all day, and it was so dark this afternoon. No visit from Mr. Sun today. Tomorrow should be better though…let’s hope, oh, let’s hope.

So Eric told me a funny story today. Apparently I was talking in my sleep last night (I do this a alot!) and I yelled outloud, “You are going to let her run alone??? How RUDE!”

lol…apparently, I was channeling my inner Stephanie Tanner??? :D

Is it any coincidence that I was reading about marathons before bed?

This afternoon was filled with lots of errands! Good errands though!

Pre-errand fuel: Apple with Organic Apple Butter

I got a much needed new pair of sneakers. The sneakers that I have been using have holes in them! Not good, I know. I bought a pair of Brooks Ariel’s that are supposed to be one of the best for over-pronation. I never seem to have luck when I buy new running shoes, they always give me blisters in some shape or form, however, I have hope for these lil guys! I must admit, I am a bit put off by the weight of the shoe (since there is so much mid-sole support they are heavier than the avg. shoe), but I hope I can get used to them! I guess anything seems heavy after using my Nike Free (i.e., super light weight and meant to feel like you aren’t wearing anything!) sneakers for the gym this past year!

And a Polar F7f HRM!

I am super excited to use this model because it has the soft chest strap feature. My old HRM had the plastic strap and I found it to be uncomfortable at times.

I have been wanting new sneakers and a HRM for over a year now, so I am just delighted to use them! I finally shelled out the money for it. I hate spending money because I don’t consider them a necessity but I also knew the sneakers with the holes were hurting my body needlessly! I guess it is money well spent- here’s to health! :D

Now for the much anticipated Guest Dinner post!

Thiis delicious creation came from Melissa from A Happy and Healthy Life

She writes:

Hi Angela,

Sadly supper wasn’t very exciting because I didn’t know I’d be sending a picture of it do you. : )

So what do I have on my plate? Well, it’s my version of chicken salad… a mixture of 2.5 ounces of canned chicken breast, 1/2 tbsp of mayo, 1/3 cup of corn, 1/3 cup black beans seasoned with black pepper(you can also put in curry seasoning). On my whole grain roll I have some spinach and I also spread my roll with french onion laughing cow cheese. Yummy, nutritious and filling(and probably enough for two servings but I needed the calories tonight!!).

I am going to try this one forsure! Looks delicious and so satisfying. Thanks Melissa!

I may do a post later tonight :D See you soon!

Stay tuned tomorrow for pictures of my grocery shopping trip! And the winner of the Lululemon contest!!

Awwww, I’m so excited that you used my supper from last night!! =D

And I’ve never thought about using apple butter on apples, great idea and can’t wait to try it!!

It rained on and off all day here also, makes for a long boring Saturday.

Good luck with the HRM…I’ve always thought about getting one, haven’t taken the plunge yet…

Hi Angela! I’ve been wanting to get a HRM for so long now but I too can’t bring myself to shell out the cash :) I was wondering how much yours costs? Also, what does apple butter taste like?

3 Angela November 16, 2008

Hey Melissa! No problemo :D
You should definitely try the apple/apple butter combo- it’s delicious! It would be even better with a dallop of almond butter too….mmm

Hey Zoe My HRM (Polar F7F) was $119.99- it is about $30 more than the F4, but I wanted the soft chest strap so I splurged.
Apple butter tastes like heaven! lol. It is smooth, savoury, creamy- youwould never believe that it is only made up of apple and apple juice concentrate (at least the brand I bought anyways!) I couldnt believe it was only 2 ingredients.

My mom makes home made apple butter. Hers is kinda like a applesauce consistency and it has yummy spices in it!!

Scariest weather here yesterday – pouring, thundering, lightning… ahh!!

LOOOOOVE all the shopping goodies, and the guest dinner post!!

ohhhhhh i want that HRM! i have the F4 that my boyfriend bought for me as a gift, and i love having it but there are so many annoying little things about it that i’d change. soft chest strap sounds awesome. i didn’t even know those existed.

i have a big crockpot filled with apple butter to can right now! i’ve never had it with apples before but it definitely seems like it could work.

I use the Brooks Ariel and they are the only sneaker that has really worked for me. I even got extra inserts for extra stability. Yes, they’re a bit heavier (a bit orthodic, yes?) but your foot stays steady and, ultimately, you’ll really be able to take off on long rungs. Enjoy!

Haya mmmm homemade apple butter? Even better! I will have to make some in my own crockpot someday!

The soft chest strap for the HRM is definitely worth it in my opinion…I wore it last night and it was very comfortable. They even tell you to put it in the wash every 5 uses! :o

AGS Wow that is so good to hear about the Ariel’s! I am so excited to use them!
