The lovely ladies from Booty Camp Fitness recently sent me their new Ultimate Home Edition 11-disc workout plan to try out. I am a big fan of their first workout DVDs, so I was really excited to try their newest series. Sammie Kennedy- the Creator of Booty Camp Fitness- and the other amazing boot-camp instructors have a very friendly and laid-back style, making even the biggest exercise newbie feel confident. When you think of a “boot camp” workout, you often think of instructors screaming at you and lots of intensity. This isn’t Booty Camp’s style at all. It’s all about having fun, empowering women, and making it seem like you are working out with a few of your girlfriends (who just happen to know some killer workout exercises).
The 11-disc series contain the following workouts:
The DVDs come with a workout calendar, jump rope, measuring tape, lifestyle guide, and e-cookbook as well. I’ve been testing out the workouts since the end of December and I’m starting the 2-month plan this week.
The workout that I love to hate? 20-minute Bounce ‘n Burn (jump rope)
Burn isn’t even the word! My legs feel like bricks when I do this workout. The last time I jumped rope was probably in grade school so it wasn’t pretty the first time I did it. After a couple painful sessions, I’ve relearned how to jump rope without whipping myself like silly (tip: wear long pants!). It will probably take me at least a few more sessions until I’m not gasping for air..it’s an intense 20 minutes, even with alternating jumping rope with strength exercises.
So far the videos are going well and I’m loving the variety of the 11 workouts. My muscles hate me though, so I’ve been making sure to stretch a lot, take my rest days when needed, and get lots of protein following tough workouts.
Like with this Triple lentil Recovery Soup!
Packed with over 25 grams of protein per serving, this soup will aid with post-workout recovery and get you back in the game in no time.

Prepare yourself for a high protein and flavourful soup, great for all those sore muscles that we often have at the beginning of the year. A little bit goes a long way with this soup! It’s extremely filling and lovely with a toasted bun or piece of bread.
It’s a bit of an “ugly duckling” soup, but I think we learned not to judge food by its appearance long ago. ;)

for the first time ever, i have no goals to achieve other than feeling happy. i came to realize there’s nothing you can achieve from outside world that guarantees you that feeling, only thing you can do is work on yourself and learn to be content with nothing but your own self. no material achievements, neither fitness or comparisons, money, etc can give you that. of course, they can always add up and help but first feeling the need of not needing anything but feeling love and be loved.
My goal in 2012 is to zipline!
I’d like to learn how to strength train, and then actually do it a few times a week!
I would love to go to San Francisco this year, maybe for my birthday.
I would like to stop being so hard on myself and appreciate the little victories! :)
I would love to run a 1/2 marathon, and travel to Italy with my husband and son!!!
:)

In 2012, I want to start the second half of my life healthier and stronger than I was the first 50 years! I am transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, trying to exercise daily and am signing up for the Wounded Warriors Tough Mudder Race with my 21 year old son!
Good for you, Wendy!! I’m sure you will show up people half your age in the race!
This year I’d like to try out kayaking! I’ve always wanted to try it, and it’s time to stop talking about how much I want to do it and actually do it!
I plan to work on my running endurance and complete a half marathon.
My goal is to stretch more. I had a bad back injury a few years ago + struggle with some anxiety, so upping my exercise, breathing and stretching are all must-dos this year!
I’d like to get in better shape and feel more comfortable in my own skin.
This year, my goal is to become more balanced: working out and eating healthy to take better care of myself. Last year was a huge struggle to get out of the mindset of working out for only physical results. I want to workout and eat healthy because I enjoy it! =)
My goal for 2012 is to become a physically and mentally healthier me. This will involve a lot of yoga, exercise, greens and other healthy foods. I am 22 and overweight and would really like to change that!
My goal is to lose and maintain a 10 lb weight loss through consistent workouts and less sugary snacks.
I want to learn to drive a motorcycle!
I want to do a mini-triathlon – 1/2 mile swim, 13 mile bike, 5K run – in 2012. I’ve started training so I’ve taken my first steps. I love boot camp style workouts too and would love to try these. Thank you Angela!!!
in 2012, my goal is to become more confident and continue to become the best version of myself possible ;)
I took the Booty Camp bootcamp a couple of summers ago in BC and it was kick ass – so hard! Met on Tuesdays and Thursdays in a local park and they really put us through our paces, loved it! Still have the take-home DVD they give you there but would love a new one!
That lentil soup has impressive stats – that is a LOT of protein!
And something I’d like to do in 2012 is get in the best shape I’ve been in since I was 19 (7 years ago) and training for duathlons! Hopefully this DVD set would help me :)
My goal for 2012 is to be nicer to myself, and to go to europe :)
I plan to get to The Gentle Barn in 2012 & volunteer – this is no ordinary resolution. I am bed bound most of every day, on disability and have no cash. I am going to get well & I am going to The Gentle Barn….somehow – someway. I have no doubt in my mind.
My goals for 2012 are to continue to learn how to be kind to myself, to love my body even if I haven’t lost those last ten pounds and continue to not self sabotage with food. The mental transformations have been so amazing so far….here’s to a new year, a new me and a momentum that is continually picking up speed with happiness and success! (Oh and I did sign up for a full ironman in july. Ha!)
