Played in the dirt.
Admired the beauty of fallen petals.
Ran 4 miles on Saturday and took my 17th hot yoga class today. I saw a strong woman in the mirror!
Drank a cold Green Monster after my workouts.
Did 4 loads of laundry and cleaned some house.
Went to the mall with Jamie and bought a summer dress from Bebe 50% off.
Used one of the new cookbooks Eric got me for my Birthday- Clean Start and Clean Food by Terry Walters.
Bought some delicious cherries.
Made a Cherry Tart (from Clean Start cookbook).
It fell apart, but we loved it anyways!
Helped Eric install the deck railing.
Watched him carry wood as I drank a beer. ;)
Went to Costco, bought frozen mangoes, gluten-free & dairy-free crackers, peppercorn, and a mat.
Almost shed a tear when they didn’t have frozen cherries!
Gave a little support to my (growing!) plants.

Chatted up the spinach.
Fought the Dandelion battle with the Fiskar.
Roasted cauliflower and made Mashed Rosemary Cauliflower. I adapted this recipe.
Decided that mashed cauliflower is overrated. Give me taters, please! Eric also agreed.
I do think it would make a wonderful soup base though. :)
I stayed off the computer.
Enjoyed two Spring nights outdoors.
Realized that the mosquitos love my vegan blood a bit too much!
I’m also wishing my sister Kerrie a very Happy Birthday!
Love you sis!
What have you been up to this weekend? Hope it’s been a great one.

I was just telling my mom this weekend — apparently mosquitoes don’t like the smell of vanilla, so some vanilla extract on pulse points will help ward the suckers off! (And keep you smelling lovely :-) )
I too fought the dandelion battle this weekend. They are taking over!
I also can’t find frozen cherries anywhere after running out and I’m really craving a chocolate cherry bomb smoothie :(
Looks like a great weekend!
How do you like the cookbooks? They seem interesting! And that pie looks good (even fallen apart)
I’m glad hot yoga is working out so good for you!
It looks like a very nice weekend. Btw, we have the same gardening gloves :D
Love the look of that cherry tart! Sounds like a fun weekend! :)
“Stayed off the computer” = amen.
These past few weeks and the next are going to be stressful. (Have been). I’m just trying to keep my head on somewhere – I want your weekend! ;)
Is Costco worth joining?? Maybe I should consider it…
What do you eat crackers with?
What is the mango thing in the background wit the blender?
It sounds like you had an amazing weekend. I just worked, went for an 8 mile run and relaxed, which is just what I needed.
haha- “watched him carry wood as I drank a beer”- sounds about right to me! I love making cauliflower mashes, especially with sweet curry spices. Ever tried that? Deeelish. I have a sweet curry powder that I sometimes combine with cauli and nooch for a mash, its the best.
Cheers!
Meri
I am so with you on the mashed cauliflower. Cauliflower is wonderful in its own right, but it’s no mashed taters!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
Your weekend sounds like so much fun thus far. I really love seeing how the deck is coming along and your garden. I love speaking to my plants too. They need to hear our encouraging words to grow just as much as they need water and sunshine. Well, we need water and sunshine too and encouraging words from loved ones always help :)
So far this weekend I celebrated two friends graduations. Wrote 15 and counting pages in my novel, talked to my plants and gave a zucchini plant away to my older sister (hopefully her boyfriend will teach her how NOT to kill it) and walk/ran 3.5 miles in 45 minutes. Tomorrow I hope to get my butt on my road bike and cycle out doors for the first time and pray I can finish my novel before June 1st or I lose a bet and owe a friend a bottle of expensive champagne.
my daughter follows your blog and now so am I,, good stuff!
Love that dress- So pretty! I’m way into white dresses this season :)
This weekend I took it easy! I baked bread and cherry muffins, I read the Globe and Mail, I strolled over to the farmers market and I did plenty of gentle hatha yoga. I snuggled with my puppy and chatted with my best friend for hours on her back patio. It was a good weekend :)
stumbled across your blog a couple weeks ago, been lurking since :) looks like a wonderful weekend- you are a productive woman! i need to get my hands on a copy of that clean food cookbook!
Nice to ‘meet’ you :)
I just made your Energizing Protein Power Salad – with a few modifications – and it’s great! I’ll be taking it to a bbq tomorrow for the holiday. Thanks for posting so many wonderful recipes :)

Looks like a busy but relaxing weekend! I love frozen cherries and could eat them every day and be happy :)
The doormat you picked out is gorgeous! I just love it.
What a great weekend!
I love Mill Street Organic…yum!! :)
I have the Clean Food cookbook and I love it! The recipe for Banana Coconut Chocolate Chip cookies is one of my favourites. I really want to get Clean Start too!
Haha I love that you let Eric do all the work while you drank a beer. Atta girl. ;)
Love, love, love this! Healthy lifestyle all the way! The Green Monster is looking good, I have never heard about it before – I have to try it. Oh, and isn’t gardening just the most relaxing activity ever? I always look forward to weekends to spend hours in my garden, really.
Yes it is so relaxing…love it
