Hey guys!
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
It is quite busy around the house here today- Eric’s parents are moving all of their furniture out of the house tomorrow!
The house is going to be soooo empty seeing as Eric and I only had enough furniture to fill our tiny 850 sq. foot condo! haha. Oh well, with time we will build up some furniture I am sure. :)
I also have a really crazy week at work ahead of me as well. Presentations, meetings, etc. I am trying to prepare myself mentally for it.
As well as physically…
I had a great long run today- 6 miles! It felt awesome!
Before the run, I had half of a Homemade Coconut Cream Pie Larabar for calorie dense fuel.
The workout:
- 2 min. warm up walking
- 6 mile run @ 6.0 mph and incline 3% (I lowered my incline since I would be running for an hour today)
- 3 min cool down
- Total duration: 1 hour 5 mins.
- Max heart rate: 162 bpm (notice it is lower because I lowered the incline)
- Avg heart rate: 150 bpm
I blared the new Britney CD on my Ipod and read a magazine to distract me! Somehow it worked! :) I torched over 500 calories as well.

Some Fun facts about marathon training paces:
- A moderate pace is defined as 9:25-10:30 min. mile
- Long runs should be 10:30-11:45 min. mile range
- You should aim your race pace to be 9:10-10:20 min. mile
If you notice today, my long run was done faster than suggested- I ran a 10 min. mile for all 6 miles. The way I see it, as long as you can handle it, and you aren’t over training yourself, if you can go faster once and a while DO IT! :)
The above times are not a ‘one size fits all’, but simply a guide.

Do you have problems with blisters when you work out?
I have for years.
Until, I came across these amazing Anti-Blister Wright Socks
I admit, when the salesman at Sporting Life showed me these, I was a bit skeptical. But then I read about the ‘money-back guarantee’ and I was a happy girl. :D Don’t cha just love money-back guarantees??!
So, it has been a few weeks since I have been using these socks and I am super excited to tell you that I am blister free since using them! Truly amazing!!!!
If you suffer from blisters (especially as your mileage increases), I urge you to try these out. Now. GO!

See you later for a special & edible announcement….. :)
I leave you with one of my favourite love quotes today….
Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

My high school sweetheart….met & fell in love over 8 years ago :)
Great quote. And great job on your run today!
Whenever I get blisters I find it is because of my socks. If they get bunched up I get a blister where they rub. I might have to try these!
great run! i never use the incline – but i heard it really works your butt. i should try ;)
LOVE your pics. you have great style!!!
i’ve got wright socks too! i get mine from the running room. i am now completely hooked on double layered awesomeness. really cuts down on the blistering. i also use petroleum jelly on blister prone spots before i put the socks on to cut down on rubbing, which is usually a bigger problem when i have new shoes.
Fabulous workout, photos, and quote!! :-)
Oh i love that shadow picture, that’s so beautiful!
I use Vaseline on blister-prone areas of my feet before long runs and that has been helping. I think I may need to look into getting these socks as well.
Is the house you are now living in Eric’s parents old house?
are you using a heart rate monitor for your workouts. I have one of the Polars and I like it a lot.
I like the photo of the shadows too.
This quote is AMAZING. I am moving 4 hours away from home in about two months for college and my high school sweetheart boyfriend of 2 years is coming with me. I’ve been questioning if this is the right thing for both of us but that quote was just what I needed. I couldn’t imagine a life without him in it
