Sorry about the comments not working this morning..I’m not sure what was going on, but it is now fixed! :)
Time for another Project Natural Glow review!
I was out of conditioner, so I picked up this Jason Body Enhancing Conditioner:
It was rated a 4 out of 10 on the Skin Deep website, which isn’t great, but it could be worse I guess. There is a fragrance-free conditioner that has a score of 2 out of 10, so this seems to be a better option if you are concerned about your product ratings.
What did I think of it?
- I didn’t care for the fragrance of this conditioner. I wish it was fragrance free- I’m not big on smelly things that I put on my hair or skin. The conditioner went on pretty thick so I was pretty impressed because body enhancing conditioners are usually on the thin and watery side. It was easy to rinse out too.
- The biggest downfall of this conditioner is that it left my hair extremely tangled! I have had this problem with other body enhancing conditioners before, but this left my hair more knotty than usual. The trade off however was lots of volume. I did notice that my hair had a bit more bounce to it.
- Given the so-so rating on Skin Deep and the fact that it did make my hair tangled and hard to comb out, I probably would not buy this product again. I will however continue to use it until it is finished, but I may have to mix it with another conditioner so my hair isn’t as tangled when I comb it.
Be sure to check out Dr. Oz tomorrow- He investigates the dangerous ingredients lurking in your makeup! I have my VCR ready to tape!
Have you tried any Jason products? What were they and what did you think? Or better yet do you use an all natural conditioner that you just love- what is it?
I believe you are your work. Don’t trade the stuff of your life, time, for nothing more than dollars. That’s a rotten bargain.

I have Jason’s antiperspirant and unfortunately was not impressed by that either. It smells ok and does the job when I’m not sweating..i.e. at work…but the minute i go to the gym, I need something stronger. I would love to use more natural products but find I’m usually let down :(
I have tried the Jason natural toothpaste and I love it. It took time to get used to it (made from aloe I believe) but an easy transition knowing it’s organic and has no chemicals in it.
Ohh, I will be setting my DVR for that Dr. Oz
That conditioner is also full of silicones (Dimethicone) which are awful for your hair. Silicones and sulfates – they’re evil!
I like Jason’s lavender deodorant. I learned about the dangers of aluminum in antiperspirants, especially applying something that gets absorbed so close to lymph nodes, so I switched to all natural awhile ago. Tom’s of Maine was good too!
Though I’ve only tried a couple of Jason products before–the Cranberry lotion and the Tea Tree deodorant–I LOVE them. The scents are light, fresh and natural, and the products themselves work well. My only complaint is that my extremely dry hands need more moisture than the Cranberry lotion can provide, and the deodorant washes away pretty easily–though this is probably because it a) doesn’t have all those nasty chemicals in it that other deodorants do, and b) it’s a roll-on liquid.
I would have gotten the Biotin conditioner tonight, actually (just ran out of my favorite Avalon Organics Ylang Ylang Conditioner, and they don’t sell it in my town!), but I found another one that was a bit cheaper and looked intriguing. It’s made by a company called Skikai, and since it’s Leaping Bunny approved, I decided to give it a shot!
Also, Angela, what do you use for your face and skin? I have really, really, *really* picky skin that seems to hate everything I do to it, especially my forehead (that could also have to do with the fact that I have bangs). I’ve recently started using Burt’s Bees Tomato Complexion Bar–I normally wouldn’t buy a Burt’s Bees product, because Burt’s Bees is owned by Clorox Bleach now, but I was desperate–andand my skin’s handling it pretty well. However, I am still not as happy as I’d like to be with the results, and since I get to see your BEAUTIFUL face on the right side of my screen every day, I was hoping you could tell me what you use to, well, glow! =)
I like the Giovanni hair products, but I’m really not sure how ‘natural’ they really are. It’s definitely a step up from the stuff I used to use though.
my boyfriend tried some Jason deodorant before, and the way he described it was it “rotted on his skin” it smelt worse than death compared to the normal pitty smell. I wasn’t impressed with the product.
I love Dr Oz!! I will set my t-vo too. Sorry about your conditioner, i have short hair so i cant help. I would like to know what deo you use? I am using degree now and i hate it!! It doesnt do its job at all.
I didn’t like Jason products … I use “Live Clean” products on my hair, and they are AWESOME. No SLS etc., and your hair is left feeling like it would with any other shampoo/ conditioner – soft and healthy (not weird like with most organic hair products).
I started using Jason’s shampoo and conditioner about a year ago. I love them! I’ve tried most of them, I really like the Biotin. It leaves my hair super shiny and soft, and I never have problems with tangles.
I’ve tried Jason products on and off for years, and have not found one that I liked. There was always something off about them. I also don’t get a good vibe from them. Right now I’m using Alba mint shampoo and conditioner, and it’s just awesome. I’m not thrilled with their new label, but Target is carrying this line (and a few other natural lines), so I was happy about that.
I agree with Jolene. The Live Clean organic shampoos and conditioners make my hair soooo soft. I have the apple cider vinegar clarifying and the moisturizing ones. Best Jason product I’ve used so far would be the Aloe Vera body lotion, soaks into skin super fast
I also agree with the LUSH recommendation, I just started using the Farmacy soap (w/calamine lotion) for my facial acne and I’v noticed improvements in the few days I’ve used it.
