When I first came across Mama Pea’s blog, Peas and Thank You, I was drawn to her witty story-telling ability about her day to day shenanigans. Sarah, a devoted wife and mom of 2, pokes fun at her busy life as a mother trying to balance it all, including creating delicious vegan recipes for her family.
Oh, and did I mention that she wrote a cookbook in all her spare time?
She’s a magician that woman, a true magician.
And guess what? Today is the official release of the book by Canadian publisher Harlequin!
When Sarah asked me to be part of her Peas and Thank You Cookbook Tour, I was eager to jump aboard. Three (long) days passed before the package arrived in my mailbox. I ripped it open like the savage vegan beast that I am and I feasted my eyes over the beautiful photography, bright colours, and hilarious stories about the Pea Family.
I was no longer a loner in my kitchen. I had friends! The Pea Family was right along there with me, cracking jokes and letting the good times roll.
This beautiful Chickpea Strawberry Mango Salad caught my eye and I knew it had to be in my belly pronto.
It’s packed with Pumpkin-spice roasted chickpeas, mango, strawberries, roasted almonds, fresh mint, dried cranberries, Cinnamon Vinaigrette, and more! Talk about an impeccable flavour combination, perfect for a hot summer day!
Eric and I both agreed it was a hit! How I wish that salad was in front of me right now at 11:49pm… :)
I also made Yogi Guacamole which is a high-protein guac with a secret ingredient! We enjoyed it with Mary’s crackers as a side dish.
Whenever I buy a cookbook I’m always curious what the author’s favourite recipes are, so I asked Mama Pea if she could spill the beans peas for us today!
Here’s what she shared…
1. Mama Pea’s favourite cookbook recipe: Thai Crunch Salad
2. Pea Daddy’s: Mango Cupcakes with Coconut Cream Frosting
3. Gigi’s: Cut Out Sugar Cookies
4. Lulu’s: Spaghetti & Mediterranean Lentil Meatballs
5. Pea Kitty: “She only eats cat fur. Which is the only explanation I have for the daily hairballs on my ‘dry clean only’ duvet cover.” [<– LOL]
And that is why I love Mama Pea; she cracks me up and fills my belly at the same time.
You know, they say the way to a woman’s heart is through her mind…and her stomach. Consider me smitten, Mama Pea.

I’ve been reading Peas and Thank you for a while now – always makes me laugh (out loud too!). I would love a copy of her book!
I love you blog. I get the email updates and can’t wait to wake up in the morning to read them. I would absolutely love a copy of this book. :-)
Great prize pack! We’re thinking about starting a family of our own, so this pack would be a great way to start thinking about feeding a little one.
I’m sooooo incredibly happy for the Pea family! I too follow Sarah’s blog and LOVE her humor and talent! I hope this book makes its way into every home (and definitely mine!) :-)
Would love to give her recipes a try on all our little peas around here!
That strawberry-mango salad looks amazing! I’d love to win her cookbook so I can find out for myself. ;)
Love her blog, your blog, and excited about this giveaway. She has such a great writing style and everything she makes looks tasty. Just like with your blog, I have a ton of her recipes “pinned” or starred in my Reader to make later. :)
I would love to win a copy !! The Pea favourites sound so tasty!
You and Mama Pea are my favorite vegan bloggers! While I’m not completely vegan, I eat vegan most of the time, and you two inspire me with your oh-so-tasty concoctions!
Wow, that salad looks sooooo good! I would definitely be trying that! Fun fun giveaway!
Despite the fact that I’m not a vegan, I enjoy reading Mama Pea’s blog – it’s absolutely endearing
I love Mama Pea! Her blog and tweets are so great and I really love that more “real” people are writing cookbooks. Books that are accessible to the average person a don’t involve a bajillion (yes that is a number, in my world) ingredients!
I’m so excited to check out this book.
I love the peasandthankyou blog! that pea pack looks adorable :)
I’d love to try out all the different recipes!!!!
That salad looks amazing. I have to go out and get some of the ingredients to make that, though I would use something else for the cranberries, as I’m not really feeling cranberries at the moment, maybe use figs as I’m craving those. But now I have to really check out Mama Peas book when the library gets it in unless I happen to win a copy.
I’m in love with the Pea Family, and am so excited to get my hands on the cookbook! Would love the chance to win this prize pack :)
I love the title! But I just got it at the end of you blogpost :D:D
I´d love to win the book because I am sure I won´t be able to buy the book here in Germany ;)
Mango cupcakes. Yummmmmm,
I’d love to win. The recipes look great.
