I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
My favourite vegan food is either your No bake double chocolate torte or your squash mac n’ cheez
Tough question but cheesy kale chips or vegan donuts. I love them so much I’d eat them together!
I’d have to say a smoothie of any variety. There are so many possible combinations and pretty much anything you make in a blender will taste good (some exceptions apply of course…)
My favorite vegan food would have to be raw coconut cream pie. It is absolutely out of this world!!!!!!!! I had a slice of it at an all raw restaurant in Minneapolis and I have been craving it ever since! I would love to see what your version of raw coconut cream pie tastes like (:
I am a vewbie (vegan newbie) and i must say my fav so far is the Green Monster smoothie. Simple, healthy, and so dang delish! Thanks for all the great info and fabulous recipes… def turned over a new leaf (pun intended)! :)
Ooo my favourite vegan food…are these vegan sesame gluten free cookies w/ a dollop of apple butter in the middle from healthy foods and more (a great health food store/bakery in waterloo).
So many great ones to choose from but my favorites are any recipes using pumpkin!
Vegan pumpkin muffins… ’tis the season!
S
Vegan cupcakes from babycakes in NYC!
Probably the green smoothies. I’m not vegan, but I sure do love these!
My new favorite food is vegan Polenta made with Rice Milk and cumin roasted cauliflower..yumm yumm yumm
My favorite vegan food is Spicy Mulligatawny Soup, I could eat it every week (and sometimes do!). Here’s my recipe: http://athome-ann.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-favorite-mulligatawny-soup.html
My current favorite vegan foods were introduced at Thanksgiving dinner. My sister made a delicious sweet potato casserole w/ Earth Balance and gelatin-free marshmallows. The potatoes were chopped into chunks instead of the typical mushy puree and the texture was perfect! So Delicious also makes a coconut nog that tastes sweeter and lighter than standard egg nog, it makes a great after dinner drink.
Banana soft serve!!
Betty Lou’s Almond Nut Butter balls!
Your recipes are all my favourite go-tos for vegan recipes but I’d have to say that my ultimate favourite is your 15-minutes creamy avocado sauce because the whole family loves it (even my husband AND the kids!), it’s packed full of healthy fat AND it is so quick amd easy to prepare!
hmmm – this is a harder choice then I thought it would be! I guess Falafel (although overnight oats are a close second – I’m addicted!
Hard to choose! Top 3: Raw kale with the garlicky dressing they serve at Whole Foods. Sticky Finger’s Brownies (so dark and dense, light cannot escape its surface!) and the Tempeh Panini they make at Busboys and Poets. YA-hummm!
I love kale chips!!
cheezy kales chips. So delicious!
