I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

Leave a comment below telling me one of your favourite vegan foods and I’ll pick One Lucky Duck on Tuesday! Goodluck. :)
This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Cashew nut loaf! Or vegan pad thai! Or your avocado pasta! Or vegan pizza with daiya and loaded with veggies… I love it all…
I would definitely say my favorite vegan food is any yummy sweet treat! It makes me so happy to know a treat I love and enjoy can be so healthy and have so many benefits (not all of which are for me !)
Homemade fruit smoothies w/ almond or coconut milk, chia, flax and rice protein powder :) Also, you Tall, Dark and Handsome Hot Chocolate has been a staple around here lately :)
I’ve really started loving quinoa-based dishes!
I love veggies & roasted brussels sprouts are probably my favorite. While I’m not 100% vegan in my diet, I’ve gotten really into vegan baking & vegan desserts have definitely become my favorites for the holidays.
My fav vegan foods all tend to be dessert and sweets (hmm, weird :P) – choc cupcakes, pancakes, and YOUR choc chip cookies. But I also had these amaaazing raw nachos at a vegan restaurant in Burlington and I would LOVE to make something like them at home! If you’ve never been to this place, you have to try it out – The Naked Sprout!
Coconut oil is definitely my favorite vegan food! I love it so much, I will spread it on bread like butter.
So many to choose from (vegan pate, raspberry/banana smoothies w/ almond milk, spinach/strawberry salad w/ poppy seed dressing, corn on the cob w/ chili flakes…) but all time favourite would have to be vegetable dansak – SO flavourful.
My favorite vegan food is quinoa. It’s so versatile, I even make quinoa ‘oatmeal’ for breakfast. I especially love to top quinoa with your Protein Power Goddess Bowl.
Peanut Butter!
I love vegan desserts and indian themed stuff but some of my favorites are vegan curry and super charge me cookies. I am drooling just thinking about the things in that gift sampler! Yum!
I’d definitely have to go with LARABAR’s banana bread bar. It’s chewy, satisfying, and tastes just like a big hunk of banana bread- except with only three ingredients: almonds, dates, and bananas! Pure bliss :)
I can’t pick just one…but vegan mac n’ cheese really surprised me at its yumminess. it’s so good and i don’t feel guilty or gross after eating it!
Notwithstanding anything chocolate, one of my favorite vegan foods is pumpkin oatmeal – oats, a (BIG) scoop of pumpkin, pure vanilla extract, cinnamon, and raisins, topped with maple syrup. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or all four. YUM!
My all time favorite vegan recipe is the GREEN MONSTER! I make mine with vanilla almond milk and frozen strawberries and bananas (of course!). Ive gotten my whole family drinking them now. It makes for such a great snack after a long workout. :)
My favorite vegan food = your pumpkin gingerbread with spiced buttercream frosting! I made it for my entire office a few weeks ago and people were begging for recipe! They didnt even know it was vegan ;)
Fav vegan food: you’re amazing Mac and Cheeze recipe!! yummmmm
I’ve never heard of One Lucky Duck.. I’d love to check it out next time I’m there!
My favorite vegan food would have to be kale chips!! Love them :)
