I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

Leave a comment below telling me one of your favourite vegan foods and I’ll pick One Lucky Duck on Tuesday! Goodluck. :)
This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
My favorite vegan foods are almond milk and kale chips– but not mixed together :)!
My vegan favorite is hummus, especially roasted red pepper hummus!!
I love Kitcheree and the PumpkinPie Brownie and on and on……yum, there is too much to name!
What a great giveaway! I love pretty much all vegan food, but my current favorite probably has to be my raw sea salt chocolate fudge/ganache.
My favorite vegan food is vegan nachos! Especially the ones at Chicago Diner! Yum yum yum!!
Moosewood vegan chocolate cake!
I love carob!!
I’m not even vegetarian, let alone vegan, but I my diet is still mostly vegan. I’d have to say my favorite vegan food is the humble lentil. It is easy to prepare, incredibly healthy, versatile AND very cost efficient. My favorite thing to do with them lately is use them as you would ground meat (i.e. pasta sauce, sloppy joes, chili, etc.).
I love the VOO after I discovered the recipe on your website. When I went to Kansas to visit relatives, I even made little packets of them and made them at the hotel. It’s easy and delicious.
WOW!! That’s a LOT Of comments :-) … but I am incredibly happy that I can enter! (about 95% of the time it’s “US readers only” on blogs) YAY!!
My favourite vegan food … so hard to choose … I think it would be a good vegan chocolate (raw or not, I like them all :-)). The German kind of Whole Foods (called “Alnatura”) carries a dark chocolate that is vegan (just cocoa, cocoa butter and raw sugar) and it’s pretty cheap and amazing! So I kind of have it all the time … :-)
My favorite vegan food are the frozen chocolate chip cookie dough bites…especially when you crush one over hot oatmeal and it melts a little. YUM.
I would love to win :) My favoriete vegan food? Vegan macarons and you vegan pumpkin cheese sause :)
Kale chips, for sure!
My favorite vegan food has to be sauteed spinach. Seriously if i had to live on a deserted island and could only eat the same thing every day, sauteed spinach would be it!
I have many favorites but one of mine would be vegetable stew with quinoa and tofu!
I made an amazing vegan pumpkin pie recently! That probably tops the list right now:)
Oh My Goodness! That is a ton of comments! Hmmmmmm think think think, favorite vegan food, that is so hard to choose but I think I have to go with simple and lovely one of my real favorites I learned from you – The apple “cupcakes” or at least they looked like cupcakes! Apple (must be honeycrisp or pink lady for me) halves with almond butter and cacao nibs. Sweet and crunchy and quick! The nibs just send this out of this world for me. Thanks for always sharing so much information. I can’t wait for an ohsheglows cookbook some day! I will be first in line! Happy holidays and Safe travels.
Hmmm… favorite vegan food? I don’t know if I have one– I really like food! Your original green monster is pretty amazing, but I just discovered it and it’s so cold right now I’ve not had many yet. And I super love mac and vegan cheese- yum! This giveaway looks awesome– thanks!
My favorite vegan food…can’t name just one as there are so many delicious vegan options out there. I am partial to kale chips, vegan cookies, curries and stews. Thanks for offering this giveaway!!
sweet potato and black been chili!
