I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

Leave a comment below telling me one of your favourite vegan foods and I’ll pick One Lucky Duck on Tuesday! Goodluck. :)
This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Mmm…yum…I’m not sure I could pick a favorite. But if I’m thinking of snacky foods in particular, I’d have to say popcorn with nutritional yeast. Yummy, cheesy!
My latest obsession is your curry butternut squash and red lentil stew. I made a similar recipe using rice instead of squash and it was not as tasty. Even my meat loving boyfriend agreed, though he mentioned he would like it with some bacon. The best part of the recipe is it uses ingredients I always have around and are not expensive, which is very important for a student living in a small apartment! Thanks for making such affordable and easy recipes.
Oh my there are too many to count! I love Kale Chips, Butternut squash mac and cheese and pretty much anything Indian. I am very new to the world of vegan cooking and your blog helps me branch out an learn more about cooking with great recipes to try! Thanks so much it would be so exciting to win!!
Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite vegan food would have to be anything with tomatoes in it. Last week I had this delicious bruschetta.
dough balls:) ’nuff said
Wow what a fabulous trip!
One of my favorite vegan foods is a banana chocolate chip oatmeal cookie that I make. I love them because everyone who’s ever tried one (even my meat and potatoes dad) has loved it! I love sharing the vegan lifestyle with my family and friends.
I get really shy when I take pictures of my food in public too. I feel everyone’s eyes staring at me. :(
Vegan Overnight Oats (made with So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk… yum!)
What an amazing giveaway! I visited one lucky duck when I went to NYC and I have to say their cheesy quackers are one of my all time fave vegan foods so I’d be over the moon to win the prize :-)
Veggie quinoa salad is my favorite so far!
My favorite vegan food would definitely have to be pumpkin Banana oatmeal made with almond milk and peanut butter! Yum
Wow, what a giveaway! My favorite vegan food is stuff I don’t really consider vegan, just wholesome and fresh. Anything with kale; butternut squash and black bean burritos; spinach, sweet potato and black bean wraps; and my homemade pizza with an oat-flour crust, lots of fresh veggies and a spicy tomato sauce, topped with a little nutritional yeast. I’ve gotten so used to eating this way I don’t really consider think about it anymore. However, I do go out of my way to find vegan dark chocolate!!!!
My favorite vegan foods are smoothies, vegan baked goods, nut butters, coconut ANYthing, and so many more!! What a generous giveaway Angela, thank you! :)
you’re awesome….One Lucky Duck is on my list to visit!
My favorite vegan food these days has to be your Lightened Up Protein Power Goddess Bowl!
Home made almond milk – I am vegan because of food allergies and I have to say that I like almond milk better than cow’s milk!
I’d have to say green smoothies and your tomato basil pesto – I just can’t get enough!
I absolutely looooove Spaghetti squash “pasta” as my vegan fave. Your cheeze recipes are of course to die for as a topping, Angela. Thanks! : )
Baked Sweet Potatoes with a dollop of hummus (instead of sour cream!) on top is an all-time favorite of mine!
Hummus with home made pita chips!
My favorite vegan foods are greens–anything with kale gets my vote! Love the blog, and love One Lucky Duck :)
