I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

There’s too many favorites…but on a daily basis I would have to say my favorite vegan food is any type of nut butter!
It’s so hard to choose! I’d have to say my favorite is anything with avocado. So…guacamole!! I ate so much of this summer! Yum!
I ADORE One Lucky Duck or, in French “un canard chanceux” ;) If only they’d open one in Paris, my life would be complete!
My favorite Vegan food might just be One Lucky Duck’s S&M salad with their rosemary crackers, dulse, mac oil, lemon avocado and hemp seeds. With some coconut almond probiotic yogurt for dessert (my new obsession). Though YOUR creamy avocado pasta probably beats everything ! :)
Bisous from la France
I just made your black bean and butternut squash burritos. They were awesome and definitely one of my new favorite recipes!
I’d have to pick almond milk, green smoothies, nutritional yeast, and tempeh!
Your Vegan Walnut Lentil Loaf…and for dessert healthified puppy chow consisting of cocoa, peanut butter and brown rice.
One of my favorite vegan foods is YOUR recipe for creamy avocado pasta! Seriously one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had, and my non-vegan food loving husband totally loved it!
Anything with cocoa and honey – a 1/2 cup pumpkin blended with tofu, 1 tblsp cocoa and 1 tblsp honey. It’s a silky, chocolatey heaven.
LOVE One Lucky Duck!! I live right around the corner :)
Favorite vegan food = braised kabocha squash with soy sauce, coconut butter, and kale. Yes.
tempeh!!!!!!!! I could eat it at every meal!
the wf in austin used to sell these giant vegan chocolate chip cookies that were to die for! sadly they stopped making them :(
I think my favorite vegan food has been vegan snickerdoodles. Simple and easy to make but chewy and sweet so it hits that junk food craving. Love them!
Your vegan chocolate chip cookies are divine! Best recipe ever.
i’ve never had their macaroons and i’m dying to try them!
I made some vegan pumpkin cookies a while ago. They were delish! I also made a vegan chocolate cake for my nephew’s first birthday…VERY tasty!
I was in NYC over the weekend too. My boyfriends family is from there, so we went to spend the Holiday with them! Wonder if we ever crossed paths? ;)
I’ve made several of your recipes, but I have to say my all time favorite, is the cookie dough bites….mmm…I made them for a pot luck and everyone was asking me how to make them..they were all shocked when I said they were made with dates!! Delicious! Keep them coming, I love to experiement in the kitchen with you! :)
I’ve been vegan for many years, so where do I begin? I guess anything indian spiced and savory as those are on regular rotation in my house: Red lentil dal, Masoor dal, curried squash and lentil soup, curried cauliflower, etc. Oh, and nothing beats a huge kale salad warmed and smushed with avocado, beans and nutriional yeast…my idea of comfort food!
Thanks for the opportunity to win this coveted basket of goodies, Angela!
I would love to visit there! My favorite vegan food is tofu: broiled or sauteed, crispy and chewy, with a yummy sauce…hard to do it wrong!
Kale Chips!
Chia seeds, nutritional yeast, and SoDelicious coconut milk are my favorite vegan things!
