I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

It is actually your “Long Weekend Grilled Salad” I just Heart it! I eat it along with a portabella mushroom as a hamburger or I top the veggies ontop of the portbella. Its great.
hmmmmm….so many yummy vegan snacks to choose from! one of my faves is overnight steel cut oats. soak them with a few dried figs, process all in a food processor the next morning, with a pinch of cinnamon and a drizzle of maple syrup. YUM!
Vegan salad rolls with loads of peanut butter sauce! Yum!
Without a doubt, my favorite food is the garlicky kale salad from Whole Foods. I can eat this stuff by the bucket (despite my husband’s lack of desire to kiss me afterwards). I made my 1st homemade batch last week and it wasn’t too shabby :)
homemade hummus!! Love it!
Anything fruit related like your Fruit Oat Bars! I make them weekly! I love them! Now I’m not brown nosing! Otherwise I love rice, cooked in stick with vegetables!!
I am hooked on green monsters! I start every day of the work week with some version. It really kick starts my day and gives me energy!
One of my favorite vegan foods is the raw cacao goji bites I get in the bulk bins at Whole Foods. Sooo yummy! I love to snack on one (or three!) with my morning smoothie!
Fresh juice! Kind of expensive and a little time-consuming but always worth it when I make it. Beets, apples & carrots with a little ginger are where it’s at for me :).
My newest favorite vegan food is my black burgers recipe at http://sweetbasilkitchen.com/2011/11/07/black-bean-veggie-burgers/
My daughter-in-law continues to inspire me to more and more vegan cooking!
Pretty much any of your vegan baked goods!
Lucky duck sounds soo good!! My favourite vegan recipe of yours is the Butternut squash mac n cheese!! i love it! xx
Oh, my vegan gods. This particular gift bag would be PERFECT for me, as I LOVE raw vegan treats! I would probably inhale the entire bag upon receipt, haha.
My favourite food…that’s a really tough one! As of right now, I would actually have to say the sweet potato. It’s versatile, extremely healthy, and tastes like natural candy! What more could I want from a tuber, especially when I don’t really like its not-so-distant cousin, the regular potato? =P
In terms of my favourite prepared food, though, I would have to say Sprouted Raw Foods’ Cookie Drops. The chocolate drops are thumbnail-sized bites of heaven (and they are actually what I think a perfect raw chocolate macaroon should taste like!).
It’s so tough to choose! My favorites are vegan chocolate chip cookies or the quick and dirty cheeze sauce, yum! OH! OR..Vegan enchiladas
I have to say cookie dough chocolate chip balls , I make them and then mix them with coconut milk vanilla Icecream MMMMMMMMM so good.
My favorite is your recipe calledChocolate Dipped Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls! I keep them in my freezer so no one knows and sneak back there for my treat (s) everyday! I make them with vegan chips too.
My favorite vegan recipe is actually your 5 ingredients no bake vegan date squares!!! I LOVE that recipe! :) I’m surprising my mom with a trip to NY next december as her retirement gift!! I hope to stop by the one lucky duck! It looks awesome!
Hummus! Hummus! Hummus! :)
Sooo hard to choose…Green Monsters are a staple in my diet, but I just made your vegan burgers and they deeelish!
Oh I adore One Lucky Duck. I consider myself one since I happen to live only 5 blocks away from Chelsea Market and get to go there! So far, my favorite vegan treat has been these snickerdoodle cookies from Babycakes cookbook. so simple but so soft and delicious!
