One Lucky Duck Big Gift Sampler Giveaway!

December 1, 2011

IMG_0323

I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.

At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.

We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.

I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!

It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.

It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

Angela! I’ve loved reading your NYC experiences-love it when bloggers come to my hometown. One Lucky Duck is definitely a special place, right? I bought macaroons ONCE, they lasted maybe a day!? so I’m not allowed to spend money there anymore because it just doesn’t last! Ha.

Currently my fave vegan food is cheesy kale chips. I finally figured out a recipe that meets my flavor reqs and I couldnt be happier!

My very favorite food when I was a child was vegan – applesauce! Homemade, of course, with copious amounts of cinnamon – I could eat it all day!

Nowadays, I eat such a diversity of vegan foods that I don’t think I could pick just one – but one of my favorite foods to top things with is nooch! Love that stuff!

I had SO much fun there when I was in NYC a few months ago. I’m so glad you had such an amazing trip and were able to enjoy such a wide variety of vegan restaurants and food! :)

My favorite vegan food? That is one of the toughest questions ever because it seems to change on a weekly basis. But right now I’m loving kale salads, roasted veggies, and sweet potatoes! I can’t get enough.

It’s a tie – any vegetable with nutritional yeast heaped on top AND almond butter.

I love all the recipes on your website, but my favorite vegan food is probably your Chilled Double Chocolate Torte, no bake version. Friends love it too and can’t believe it has avocados in it!

Too many yummy things to choose! I love many different vegan Indian dishes, salads, stir fries, vegan cupcakes, oatmeal, peanut butter, the list goes on! Maybe my favourite is just a simple bowl of granola with almond milk, raisins, pecans, and coconut flakes.
