I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

It was one of my first vegan foods I purposely ate and still a classic – homemade kale chips – yum!
carob chips!
It is a hard thing to pin down as freggies are my favorite foods… but if I HAVE to choose, I am going with peanut butter or almond butter… just the ground up nuts, no additions. I can sit and eat it with a spoon!
nice giveaway!
Wow! This is so cool seeing you go there, I just went this summer to One Lucky Duck :)
Although I am not vegan, I do love green monsters and foods that I make that are accidentally vegan (especially cakes!). But most of all, I love the NYC vegan restaurants, they are so creative at making the food taste delicious that nonvegans still love it.

My favourite vegan food is avocados. I just ate a whole one. But I can’t think of any vegan food I dont like. Now I am seriously craving something really sweet.
My favorite vegan recipes always involve quinoa… Love that stuff! So far, my favorite from your blog has been the curried lentil soup (amazing!) and my boyfriend’s favorite was the cinnamon sweet potato chickpea salad. I’m getting hungry just writing this :)
Definitely green smoothies to drink and hummus for eating! (I use sunbutter in place of tahini because I have a little one with a sesame allergy) Carrot hummus is fantastic, too, by the way!
My fav vegan food is probably potatoes from the garden right now – so incredibly versatile!
Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal, hands down.
Kale chips or any kind of soup!
This is the best giveaway ever! I don’t think I can pick just one favorite, but the pumpkin waffles from Vegan with a Vengeance have been my breakfast staple for almost a year now!
Green monsters – I have even gotten my yoga students hooked – they think I am a green monster guru- but I give you all the credit.
Sooo many favorites, how to choose? Chickpeas? Tofu? Almonds? Bananas? Nutritional Yeast? Gaaaaaahlic?!
Ultimately, the Popeye within me says *spinach*. I eat it alone, I put it with anything, in anything… you’ve got me drinking it with Green Monster smoothies now, which has increased my spinach consumption.
My husband says I have she-hulk arms. And he’s starting to see anchors on them.
God bless vegan cooking, it’s shown me how many delicious foods that there are in the universe that are available. And many of them go so well with spinach!
This would be such a fun giveaway to win!
Right now, my favorite vegan food is vegan-adapted Sweet-Potato Vichyssoise; with the lime and coconut milk it’s almost tropical-tasting! Mmmm. The ingredients are: 2 tbsp. olive oil, 1+ leeks (whites only) sliced and sauteed, add 2.5 c. stock and a chopped large sweet potato (or 2 small), once softened (20 min.) add the grated zest and juice of 1/2 lime, 1/2-1 cup light coconut milk (to desired consistency), and salt and pepper to taste. Deeeelicious!
Nud Food is amazing – vegan, full of protein, and tastes so yummy!
Also a great entrepreneurial story from Dragon’s Den!
What an awesome prize! I am glad to see you had such a great & delicious time in NYC!
One of my favorite vegan foods is stir-fry with brown rice, veggies & tofu. I love how it tastes AND how I feel after eating it!
Hummus. Seriously, anything with chickpeas, olive oil and lemon and I’m sold.
Raw chocolate cookie dough balls…I’m totally addicted. I make a chocolate, chocolate chip version too…a girl can never have too much chocolate :) Next closest is the roasted tomato basil pesto. YUM!
Butternut Squash Soup, love it!! Cheezy kale chips are also one of the best vegan snacks ever!
Oh my, awesome giveaway, I always wanted to try those quackers!
Ana
Mine would have to be Minestrone soup! Oh my gosh. Or actually, any kind of vegetable soup. And also Thai food! I’m so angry I didn’t know about these places when I visited New York! I must go back sometime and find them! :)
