I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

I’m addicted to kale chips! I can’t get enough of them!
favourite vegan food? quinoa with anything and everything! hummus, broccoli, carrots, lemon juice, pepper + garlic powder = my lunch today!
Vegan Overnight oats
I love vegan baked goods! I’m addicted to your carrot spice muffins – I’ve been eating them for breakfast with soy yogurt. So yummy!
LOVE your blog! Thanks!
Melissa
What a fun trip! Thanks for sharing :)
One of my favorite vegan foods (besides peas) is a roasted red pepper and walnut dip that I serve with spiced Algerian flatbread—yum. However, a recent favorite is your chocolate chip, walnut brownies—we are huge fans—my husband went gluten-free over a year ago and, as you know, vegan-gluten-free can be a challenge, but those brownies . . . my husband actually said, “Are you going to eat all those on me?” “Hey! I made them, didn’t I?” :)
There are too many, but I love nutritional yeast!
Hmmm… favorite vegan food would have to be Daiya cheese. Seriously, when I need a treat or want something gooey, it gets the job done. :)
Sauteed kale and mushrooms!
My favorite vegan food is pureed banana ice cream with cocoa drizzle on top. It changes based on my mood, but since I began my period today… that one definitely wins out.
Also, if you’re ever in Maine, The Green Elephant in Portland consistently serves amazing, fresh, local vegan fare!
If I am in the mood for something sweet, I love making hot cocoa with dandies marshmallows and silk mint chocolate! For a salty snack, salt and vinegar roasted pumpkin seeds :)
Hummus is my favorite vegan food!
My favorite vegan food YOUR vegan chocolate torte. I am in love. I make it for every family gathering and no one can tell that it’s mostly avocado. I am a sucker for anything healthy that tastes, well…unhealthy.
Hummus – any time of day with anything to dip in it or eat it with!! Oh, and of course a green smoothie a day to keep the doctor away ;)
wheatgrass juice and green drinks….changed my life!
Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Pillow Cookies!
My all time favorite vegan food is the alfredo made with cashews which is found on your blog and was adapted from Vegan Yum Yum. I just can’t get enough of it!
Wow, those look like some fun goodies to win!
I’d have to say my favorite vegan food of the moment would be one of your veggie burgers or a good ol’ fruit smoothie. :)
Kale chips!
Oh boy, that’s like asking to choose a favorite child!
I think though, I’d have to say, since I’m allergic to dairy…. VEGAN CHEESECAKE :)
Your black bean quinoa salad! I looove it, and have made it for several occasions and everybody (vegers and non-vegers alike) raves about it. It is on my bucket list to visit One Lucky Duck someday, but a box of goodies would suffice for now!
