I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

Leave a comment below telling me one of your favourite vegan foods and I’ll pick One Lucky Duck on Tuesday! Goodluck. :)
This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Quinoa hands down! I first tried it earlier this summer in your Southwest salad recipe, and I’ve been experimenting with it ever since.
I think Kale chips slatered with Nutritional Yeast, or Vegan Queso, or butternut squash mac and cheez, or vegan spring rolls, or my Tortilla Soup, which I am about to have a big bowl of @ 8:30 in the AM!
My favorite vegan food is anything mexican. I have tired so many new recipes since going vegan and I have to say the mexican ones are my favorite. Although Indian foods arent far behind!
My absolute favorite is a veggie-packed curry (Indian or Thai!) over brown rice. Mmm!
My favourite vegan food has been your latest chocolate brownie recipe, or any version of VOO! AMAZING!! I really love it all, too hard to pick just one or two!:)
Vegan butternut squash mac and cheese!
Raw veggie salad with homemade tahini goddess dressing!!!
My daughter and I love the “Oatmeal in a jar”, we make it and it is ready for her as an after school snack. Dinner is usually not until 7 in the evening, this keeps she from making bad food choices.
I have yet to try overnight oats but I am really hoping they will be my morning favorite.
My favourite vegan food is ripe avocado with lemon juice on whole grain toast.
It’s so hard to choose just one, but I’d have to say kale. Nurtitionally, it’s one of the best things you can eat and can be a yummy snack (kale chips), a great side (kale salad), a great breakfast (in your green monster smoothie) or part of a main dish (in your butternut squash mac & cheee!). I love you Kale!
Quinoa. Anything with quinoa. I make your protein power goddess bowl with it at least three times a week. Love! So glad NYC showed you a good time. Definitely trying Cafe Blossum very soon!
Tofu, rice, and veggies and fresh veggie juice have been making frequent appearances!
Veggie wraps or burritos! Yum :-)
My fav vegan food? Green monster smoothies. It was the first recipe that I had tried, and not only did I fall inlove with them, but it helped convert me into a super healthy conscious gal. They changed my life and perspective on feeling good and gaining energy. Not only do I feel better, my skin is better, my energy levels are normal and consistent. Thanks! : )
The Lentil Dal Burgers from Whole Foods :)
Favorite vegan treat: ginger molasses chews Favorite on-the-go vegan meal: Amy’s Black Bean Enchiladas Favorite homemade vegan item: carrot beet kale juice. :)
Hummus :) Its like my “ranch dressing”
Would love to win – just tired a red lentil dal last night and loved it!
My favorite vegan dish these days is a kale lasagna. The best part is that both of my daughters can’t get enough of it.
