I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
My favorite vegan food right now is probably any combination of vegan chocolate with peanut butter( i.e. brownies with peanut butter, oats with peanut butter and chocolate chips, vegan ‘reeses’ peanut butter cups, pancakes with chocolate chips and peanut butter)- YUM!
Rice….I love all kinds of rice, especially when it’s freshly made and still warm.
I love adding chia (a vegan food) to other vegan foods to boost the nutritional power.
Banana soft serve made with crunchy almond butter! I eat it for breakfast, as a snack, or dessert. So delicious!!
mmmmm i love larabars especially key lime pie!
Well, my favorite food is avocado and I love fresh guacamole! My family & I are visiting NY right now… We must squeeze in a trip to Lucky Duck. :-)
Oh, there are so many favourite vegan foods I love:
kale salad, green monsters, raw cashew cookies, minestrone soup, wild rice and qulnoa salads. I love browsing through your recipes to get ideas. :)
One of my favs are vegan double chocolate fudge mint brownies!!

YOUR NO BAKE VEGAN DATE SQUARES!!! oh and GREEN MONSTERS! yuummm nommm.
This was hard, because a lot of my favorite foods don’t contain animal products. However, perhaps my favorite food that is most often constructed as “vegan” is tempeh. So sweet and nutty!
I love one lucky duck. My favorite vegan foods are raw chocolate and kale chips!!!
ahhh! I am gonna have to say your butternut squash burritos (mostly since I’m in the midst of snarfing one and am very aware of how wondaful they are!!)
It’s definitely gotta be either anything nooch-y or (where seasonally appropriate, such as now) vegan nog — the avocado-and-coconut-milk-based kind! So good!
BANANA SOFT SERVE!!! Hands down for this vegan newbie. :-)
My fave vegan food is my homemade gnocchi.
vegan blizzards all the way! mmmm ‘ice cream’!!!
Pumpkin oatmeal with almond butter swirled in!
My favourite vegan food is anything blended into smoothie and as many veggies I can pile high on a salad – I know… super lame, but what can I say, I’m a smoothie and potatoe kind of girl ;-)
I’m a new vegan (about 6 months), and can’t pick just one! For breakfast, Food For Life Cinnamon Raisin english muffins with EB. Hummus anything for a snack. I’ve always LOVED guacamole with corn chips. Fav dessert is definitely a piece of 90% Lindts Dark Chocolate and a glass of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk.
