I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Since I live in a cold climate, Norway, this is a warming and filling dish, mostly as a side-dish, but I love to eat it on its own: Baked sweet potato, beetroot, rutabaga and whole garlic with oil and sea salt. Yummi! And its such a beautiful dish to look at. Its also approved by my meat-eating boyfriend. He actually made it himself as a pot-luck dish, since i arrange vegan pot-lucks for my meat-eating friends at home. I’ve got Serma Melngailis books and one day I’m going to dine at Pure food and wine as well!
I loooove your ironwoman smoothie! It tastes like a molasses cookie, I have it often!
Cheesy kale chips
Hands down the best thing ever. I make them in my excaliber dehydrator and I will never need chips again. So yummy, good for you, raw, organic, easy, and wonderful that I don’t know how I ever snacked without them.
Did I mention they are gluten, wheat and soy free?
Green Monsters! Had to be said :)
anything made with nutritional yeast…cheeze sauces, cashew creams, gravy, etc. :)
Favorite vegan food…without a doubt any nut butter! Just give me a spoon and a jar and I’m a happy girl!
Burger and fries!
The only other food that comes close to your Ultimate Oatmeal Raisin Cookie is the Spanking smoothie from One Lucky Duck. But for everyday fun, it is good old-fashioned lentil soup :)
I love any kind of vegan food to be honest. Kale chips and raw cashew based ice creams are two of my favorites!
Green smoothies! I have one every day – yum! I have Sarma’s recipe book. It’s great. I would highly recommend it :)
Deconstructed sushi salad – brown rice, quinoa, soy sauce, crumbled wasabi seaweed snacks (from Trader Joe’s), loads of avocado, mushrooms, eggplant, cukes and sesame seeds!

My favourite vegan food is a perfectly ripened piece of fruit :) My favourite veganised food is definitely Mac and Cheese from Everlasting Life in Washington, DC. Now that I’m living in Australia I would be over-the-moon winning the vegan goodie bag :)
I’d have to say my favorite vegan food is carrots and humus!! ♥

My favorite vegan food would have to be YOUR AMAZING SPICED PUMPKIN GINGERBREAD. I inhaled nearly a whole loaf in one day. Totally worth it :). I also love your carrot apple ginger soup and these awesome avocado spring rolls.
