Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!
1) Blendtec Total Blender & Twister Jar
Blendtec has been gracious enough to donate one of their coveted Total Blender Classic Wildside machines (picture above) valued at $454.95 USD! Whoa baby. I’ve reviewed the Blendtec before on the blog and I can attest that it’s a great machine.

This package includes the new precision tuned 4″ blade in the large nearly 3-quart total capacity BPA-free jar. The new large blade / large jar combination powers through tougher blending tasks and larger recipes with ease, and in less time.”
In addition to the blender, they are also giving away a Twister Jar (shown below) valued at $119.00 USD!

Do good deeds without expecting any thing in return.
I would remind myself that my self worth is not based on others’ opinions, to stop worrying about trying to impress other people and just enjoy being me!
I would tell my younger self not to let fear decide your life for you. You will never know if you are good at something unless you try! And very rarely is someone good at anything without practice and patience.
Thanks,
Ashley
Kids eat the fruits and raisin you get first will keep you parents happy
I would tell myself to quit worrying about what other people think, forget studying biology, and go for the art!
I would tell myself that life is long, if you are lucky, and many things will change in that lifetime. I will remind myself that the early years, with all their doubtful moments and angst ridden times will not last forever. That mistakes will be made and there is no other way to learn about life. Each stage reveals it’s own beauty, but no one thing you do or feel or think will last forever.
This blender looks amazing! Thank you for hosting:) I would have to tell my self that Twizzlers, Cookies, and Nutella are not food groups!! Haha
I would advise my younger self to start learning all you can about living a healthy life style, plant based eating, and exercising. The blender give away is awesome. THANKS!!
Oh younger self, just because you got cut from the track team in 7th grade does NOT mean you can’t run!
I just pinned the twix recipe for a second chance to win. I’m also so excited for your book to come out!!
Dear past Sarah, you do not have to impress that boy. Or that one. Or that one. Just be yourself. The end. Love, Sarah
Id tell my younger self that the worst feeling in the world is regret–take chances, live life, and don’t sweat the small stuff.
I would tell my younger self to be more confident and not to worry about what everyone else thinks because at the end of the day it really doesn’t mater what they say.
I’d tell my younger self that you will hit many bumps in the road and sometimes feel like the world has been turned around. But when you take the time to listen to yourself, you’ll get through it.
Value yourself you are someone worth waiting for
Don’t date those losers you planned on fixing! You should wait for your prince he will come when you turn 27

I would tell my younger self that wasting my heart on a guy who didn’t deserve it is not worth it. The man you end up with will treat you like a prize, so hold out!
I tweeted too! :)
