Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!
1) Blendtec Total Blender & Twister Jar
Blendtec has been gracious enough to donate one of their coveted Total Blender Classic Wildside machines (picture above) valued at $454.95 USD! Whoa baby. I’ve reviewed the Blendtec before on the blog and I can attest that it’s a great machine.
About the blender: “Total Blender Classic Series® is the all-in-one appliance that makes smoothies, fresh juice, ice cream, milkshakes, cappuccinos, margaritas, soups, sauces, bread dough, dressings, salsas, and more! It replaces up to 9 other appliances with one fast easy-to-use machine, at a fraction of the cost. This package includes the new precision tuned 4″ blade in the large nearly 3-quart total capacity BPA-free jar. The new large blade / large jar combination powers through tougher blending tasks and larger recipes with ease, and in less time.”
In addition to the blender, they are also giving away a Twister Jar (shown below) valued at $119.00 USD!

I would tell my younger self that the people who stuck by me through my struggles and not just their own struggles are the people I should keep close and treasure. They are the truest friends and I should never forget that.
I love your blog! I would use this blender to experiment with all your incredible recipes :)
P.S. I repinned you!
What I would say to my 16 year old self: Love yourself today right now just as you are – love your body for it is beautiful and so is your soul. Realizing this now instead of 25 years from now will allow you to live a happier and fuller life.
I would tell myself to not be so concerned about boys and to not be afraid of taking risks! I wish I had be brave enough to go out of state for college!
I tweeted! https://twitter.com/kelley_clark/status/264044912234860544
I would tell myself to enjoy not having so many responsibilities. Enjoy being young, and try not to grow up so fast.
First, Happy Blog Anniversary! I’ve been a reader for quite some time and remember your cute Boo! first post with some Sketchie action :)
Advice for my younger self: hold on to that blissful feeling of home. Waking up on Sunday mornings to the smell of breakfast cooking and your mom’s warm greeting as you come down the stairs. Cherish those moments! [My mom is selling the house I grew up in and this has been on my mind a lot lately!]
I tweeted :) https://twitter.com/TijuanaAna/status/264045511135342592
pinned the tomato pizza app recipe!!!
Stress less, laugh more :)
I would tell my younger self not to believe everything I was thinking…
That goes for today too!
I would tell my 16 old self that it’s never to early to start using eye and face cream.
congrats on FOUR fabulous years of blogging!!
re-pinned your recipe for homemade twix bars…holy yum!
Note to younger self: Don’t worry as much. It will all work out and worrying doesn’t solve anything.
Thank you so much for the giveaway and Congratulations on having the blog for 4 years now!! I love your blog and how honest and inspirational you are.
My advice to my younger self is that it’s okay to be me and like the things I like, no matter if I am the minority. I’d also tell myself that strong and healthy is the new Skinny, and that strong and healthy is sexier than frail and skin and bones.
I would tell my younger self to keep an open mind and explore anything and everything I’m interested in, no matter how small or silly… because when I’m older, I will be glad for those diverse experiences and opportunities.
I tweeted. :)
I would tell my younger self to stop and smell the roses. Life is short….enjoy the time you are given!
I would tell myself to not worry so much about what others think and to spend more time with my family. My mom’s been gone for over 6 years now and I wish I had more memories to draw from.
What an awesome giveaway!
Dear younger self, please quit constantly worrying about what others think of you. Also, learn to love yourself. You’re capable of so much more than you think! Oh, and your body would be so much happier if you’d quit binge drinking every weekend :)
I also pinned one of your recipes on Pinterest!
I would tell my younger self that no matter how sad you are don’t cry when he breaks up with you. His loss anyway. Crying only tells him that he was important (which he isn’t).
If I could give my younger self a piece of advice, it would be “LOVE YOURSELF!” I definitely was (and still am a little) insecure and had little self-value. I was more concerned with what others thought of me and was really hard on myself. So that’s it…not saying much literally, but saying it all emotionally :)
