Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!
1) Blendtec Total Blender & Twister Jar
Blendtec has been gracious enough to donate one of their coveted Total Blender Classic Wildside machines (picture above) valued at $454.95 USD! Whoa baby. I’ve reviewed the Blendtec before on the blog and I can attest that it’s a great machine.

This package includes the new precision tuned 4″ blade in the large nearly 3-quart total capacity BPA-free jar. The new large blade / large jar combination powers through tougher blending tasks and larger recipes with ease, and in less time.”
In addition to the blender, they are also giving away a Twister Jar (shown below) valued at $119.00 USD!

My first comment didn’t go through :(
I wod definitely tell myself to practice my instruments more, because now I can tell when my students don’t practice, and I shudder to think how obvious and annoying it must have been.
Dear Younger Self,
Don’t stress so much! You’re only young once, so stop fretting and live every day like it’s your last. Laugh a lot and don’t let the little things bog you down!
I would tell myself that I was perfect just the way I was and to stop worrying!
I tweeted about the great giveaway, Thanks!

Happy Blogiversary Ange!! And what a great way to celebrate. I’d tell my younger self to appreciate every day and not to wish away my childhood. Looking back, I wish I could be a kid again because those were some of the best days of my life! :)
I would advise myself not to stress so much. Get to know what is a big thing and what is a little thing. And start running sooner…that will help with the not stressing so much. You can run. despite what you may think.
Your imagination is limited to all the possibilities in your future so let go more, enjoy the journey and the uncertainty and relax! Every little thing’s gonna be alright!
I wish my younger self would have known to spend more time enjoying friends and family and less time stressing and worrying. I missed out!
Don’t be in such a hurry to grow up.
I would tell my younger self, not to worry about the future because God’s got it under control….enjoy the moment, carpe diem. :)
My advice to myself if I went back in the WayBack Machine? Don’t be so hardheaded, girl. And when you see that guy named Joe, run run run in the other direction-do not pass GO, do not collect $200.00. I Tweeted also! Good Luck to everyone!
Don’t sweat the small stuff and remember your mother is mostly right!
I pinned your Twix bar recipe in the spirit of Halloween!
I think I would tell me younger self to not try so hard to be something she’s not, and to let herself enjoy who she is. I’d tell her to appreciate her family more. And I’d tell her she’s beautiful.
I would tell myself that bad habits are hard to break so start developing healthy habits earlier (like exercising regularly)….
I would tell myself to care less about pleasing others and to sleep way more! =)
I’d tell myself to not worry what other people think of me-most other folks are wrapped up in their own world and aren’t paying that much attention to you anyway…
I would tell myself to not be so scared. I was scared of everything: doing the wrong thing, breaking the rules, embarrassing myself, getting a ‘B’. I wish I lived a little!!
Don’t rip out all the journal entries you have with the names of the cute boys you like in junior high for fear that someone will see them. Someday you’ll wish you could read them!
I’d tell my 16 year old self to do something today I’ll thank myself for in the future and to dream as big as I want. My thoughts shape my future.
Happy Halloween!!
