Good morning!
Wow the CRAZY dreams I had last night! It must have been from the 24 we watched just before bed because I had a dream that I was being held captive by hostels. LOL. Oh man. At 5am I didn’t think I was going to be able to get back to sleep because my stomach was growling and my head was spinning with ideas (as usual!). Luckily I did manage to get some more sleep though!
I think I either slept on my neck in a strange way last night or it is sore from doing weird back and neck bends from modeling yesterday. All I know is that the left side of my neck is SORE! I hate that feeling.
Does anyone know any good stretches for the neck? Or massages? Reflexology? :)
Too bad my sister Kristi isn’t on a cruise right now or she would be able to tell me about the reflexology neck spots. She took a reflexologist course years back!
Breakfast this morning was Green POWER baby:
I just could not be cooped up inside on a gorgeous day like today! So I took it to the deck for a calming experience. I watched the birds at the feeder– so beautiful and serene. :)
Yes I was able to get the fake eyelashes off last night! It was a bit painful so I used make up remover and they came off easily. Whew. I am enjoying going make-up free, and probably will for a day or two to give my skin a breather. :)
The Wedding Photoshoot: Part 2
So I have lots of fun little things to tell you about the workshop yesterday! See last night’s post if you missed all the pictures from my camera.
I got my make-up done by an amazing make up artist named Sherry. I have honestly never had my make-up done so well by an artist before. Sherry did it perfect and I was so happy with it. She is a super beautiful girl and so fun and upbeat!
We really hit it off and it turns out that she is a vegan as well (I told her I haven’t come out of the vegan closet yet, but I eat like one, heh) and she also is a healthy baker! We talked about lots of cool health foods to use for baking and it was so fun to be talking with someone who shares my same passions!
I told her about Oh She Glows and she actually has a blog too- a make up blog! She said that she actually ends up writing about health topics 90% of the time and how healthy eating affects the quality and appearance of your skin. Awesome. I gave her my website URL (Hi Sherry!), so hopefully she swings by. :) We were so busy though I didn’t get a chance to get her website URL so hopefully I will soon. :)
She also told me her #1 BEAUTY TRICK!
Of course I was dying to know!
She said it is Coconut Oil!
If you have never used or seen this type of oil before it is super awesome. It is solid at room temperature so you can slather it on your skin like a thick lotion.
She said she rubs it all over her body before showering, and then in the shower it comes off a bit, but once she is out of the shower the coconut oil is left on her skin leaving it super smooth and soft to the touch. I touched her elbow and it was probably the softest skin I have ever touched!! I am definitely going to try this trick out!
Stay tuned for Part 3 of The Wedding Photoshoot where I will be telling you about what happened to my dress as well as a possible PHOTOGRAPHY related giveaway coming up on Oh She Glows! I also hope to have some pictures shortly!

I’m off to do some experimenting in the kitchen!
Question of the Day: If you could put make up on only ONE part of your face, what would it be and why? For example, cheeks, eyes, lips, eyebrows, skin, etc.
Mine would have to be my skin- my skin tends to be very red and uneven and I would always choose a bit of light foundation over the red areas if I could only pick one thing! Next would be the eyes- Mascara makes my eyes pop and cleans up my whole look.

your makeup was beautiful for the shoot – how cool that she’s a blogger too!
I can’t wait to see the other pictures :)
oh – and I would put makeup on my skin first, too. mine can be kind of blotchy, especially in the winter.
You really looked amazing… and that coconut oil trick is amazing! I use it on my legs in the summer and it is AMAZING!
Its so nice in the GTA today! Glad you are enjoying the nice weather, I hope it stays :)
Thanks for sharing that trick! I’ll definitely have to try it out.
I would have to say skin, too. I have some scarring from old acne that I am self concious about.
Oh, and you look just as pretty this morning without the makeup and lashes! What’s YOUR #1 beauty trick?! :)
If I could put makeup on only one part of my face, I’d pick eyelashes. My eyelashes are very long but the ends are blond (even though I’m a brunette) so without mascara they look really tiny! Even if I want to have a makeup free day, I can’t help but swipe even just a little on there.
The weather is gorgeous here too! I really wanted to walk to school today but I have to head somewhere right after classes that’s too far to walk, so unfortunately I have to drive. But you look like you’re enjoying it! I’ll have to find some time today to get out in the sun.
Definitely get a massage for your neck!!
Gorgeous makeup!!
I’ll have to try that coconut oil trick! I sometimes use coconut oil as a deep conditioning treatment for my hair (work a good sized amount through hair, let sit for 15+ minutes, then wash out) and it makes my hair softer and shinier – and it smells delicious! Here in LA, however, my coconut oil is liquid most of the time.
You look gorgeous in that last pic! Can’t wait to hear about the dress :)
Thanks for sharing the coconut oil trick. Let us know how it works for you!! I’d be a little scared about breaking out…
I’d put foundation on my skin if it was the only thing I could do. Next would be some eyeshadow :)
The way she uses the coconut oil is very ayurvedic. In ayurveda, they use oils daily depending on your dosha/constitution(sesame oil is a good oil for all). You put it on daily before showering and then have a nice glow when you get out. We use raw organic shea butter in my house. It’s made a wonderful difference with my skin!
I have a girlfriend who uses all natural products and she uses coconut oil for everything: moisturizer, cooking, and even deodorant. I hear its miracle stuff!
Where can you buy coconut oil? That sounds like a great tip!
I can’t leave the house without mascara…it brightens my eyes and I feel naked without it!
Your make up looks so great!
I would probably want foundation. Mascara would be a close second and then lip gloss.
SPRING has SPRUNG! We had a bbq last night. Haha – Still snow on the ground but the bbq is going. Canadian Behaviour at its finest!
Diana
Thanks for the coconut tip. My skin is so so so dry from the winter here. If I could wear no other make-up, I’d put on mascara because I have blonde eyelashes, and I think I look a little weird without it.
Angela you are SUCH a doll!! Your pictures are GORGEOUS and I’m so happy it went so well! It would be so fun to be a model, but probably stressful to feel nervous or like you have to eat clean and workout before every single shoot! I love that coconut oil tip, let us know if you find out where to get it?? I think you are definitely in the market for a massage :D
So fun that Sherry has a blog as well! I hope she gives you the URL sometime soon! Great trick with the coconut oil too.. I may have to try that for some pampering before the big day!! :)
Love the photos, as usual! Did Dave & Charlotte like your engagement pressie??
Yeah, definitely my skin – I don’t mind if people see me without my eye makeup done, but I NEED cover-up on my blotches.
Now, onto more important topics: I just saw both of your photoshoot recaps, and I’m DYING with how gorge you look. Amazing! You’re so naturally beautiful, and with the professional makeup and hair you look just like a model! I’m out of town right now, but Dave checked your site all by himself and emailed me this morning to tell me how excited your pics made him to get married! :)
Love the tip about Coconut Oil, need to know where I can get some too. I definately cant leave the house without foundation on my skin :)
i love the makeup! you look absolutely gorgeous, and the dress is fabulous!
good idea to have breakfast outside. i love that it’s finally spring :D
You looked so beautiful! I really love the makeup job they did! It was very glamorous :) I can’t wait to see the professional pictures. I just loooove all things wedding since we got hitched last June. It is fun to re-live it all over again!
