Morning everyone!
I woke up to the most beautiful snowy scene this morning. Everything was White and bright– I love days like this!
Last night Eric surprised me with an early Christmas gift. I guess since he got a surprise, he felt like I should get one too!
Lately, I have been having lots of left shoulder/back pain. I think it is because I have a desk job AND I spend about 3 hours a day driving in the car.
Stress = tension = poor posture = pain!
Me, last night with my Gingerbread tea and my heated therapy bean bag around my shoulders. (If I look tired, I am!! I didn’t get home from work til after 9pm)
Last night I was especially sore after a rather stressful night at work. He pulled out a wrapped gift for me and told me to open it.
Well, look what it is:
A Conair back massager!!! How timely! :D I ripped it open, plugged it in, and he gave my shoulders a ‘massage’! It is supposed to be heated, but I really couldn’t feel the heat. That is the only thing I would say I didn’t like about it. Otherwise, it felt pretty nice on my back and surely worked out a lot of the tension!
A slept like a baby last night! Thanks Eric :)

After two rest days off running, I woke up excited to pound out some miles on the treadmill. I also had beautiful scenery to look out at which is always nice!
Today I did interval/speed work for my run:
Speed work is defined as “Short, fast intervals with recovery jogs between; increases your leg turnover and maximizes your stamina and race confidence.”
My workout (all done at incline 4%)
- 0.10 mile walking warm up, 4.0 mph
- 0.15 mile running 6.0 mph
- 0.25 mile running 7.5 mph
- 0.25 running 6.0 mph
- Keep alternating every 0.25 mile
- I did my last 7.5 mph from 3.25 mile-3.50 mile, then I jogged comfortably at 6.0 mph until 4.10 miles
- 0.10 cool down
- Total running miles: 4.0
- Total duration: 40 mins. (incl. walking)
- Max Heart rate: 175 bpm (90% of max)
- Avg Heart rate: 154 bpm (79% of max)
It was a great and challenging run! :)

I miss the snow covering the ground. Not much of that in TN.
3 hours of driving + workouts+big blog+ work+ cooking all that wonderful food. When do you find the time for anything? :)
That looks like a tough run, but satisfying I’m sure!

What a gorgeous view!
Same snow view here :-)
Great back massager!!
I’ve been thinking about getting a back massager like that for a while but I was afraid it would be too hard to do it to myself, was it easy to use?

I have one of those massagers too! Except it’s a different brand. To get the heat to work on it I have to change the ball attachment thing, I’m not sure if that’s an option with yours.. also the heat does take a few minutes to kick in. Anyways, I love using it on my legs when they’re sore after a run!
