Good morning everyone!
First off, thank you for all of your supportive comments on ‘My Road to Health’ post last night. It was a bit scary typing all of that out; I guess I felt pretty vulnerable exposing myself like that, but you made me feel so supported.
It really helps knowing that others have shared similar experiences. My goal for this blog is to make it as open and honest as possible, and to make it an environment where myself and others feel free to share their joys and struggles.
Also, I am sorry that I have been behind on replying to comments– I am going to be consistently replying to the comments, so please start checking for replies to your questions! I am also going to do a FAQ update tonight!
Stay tuned for ‘My Road to Health: Part II later today! :D

I didn’t have a great sleep last night! I was awake until about 1-1:30am and then I was up just after 7. I hate functioning on less than 7 hours of sleep, it really is the pits! I awoke to pouring rain and I just wanted to stay cuddled up under the sheets all morning long!
But, alas, I got up, as I knew I would at least feel better after my workout. I felt pretty weak this morning, and once I was working out, I realized that I probably should have had a quick bite to eat for some energy. Most mornings, I am fine without a pre-workout snack, but some mornings I should make the time to have a quick snack when I wake up feeling tired and weak. I’m sure most of it had to do with not sleeping properly!
My workout was still great. I left feeling hot and dripping in sweat. That is one way to ‘warm up’ on cold fall mornings! :D I looked a hot mess, minus the hot part. lol.
Workout recap:
- 40 mins. treadmill @ incline 15, speed 4.0mph (no interval running today as I felt too weak)
- 60 sec. plank for abs
- 10 push-ups on incline (I put my hands on a weight bench)
- 60 sec. wall sit
- 24 flights of stairs (10 of which I jogged up!)
I felt much better after my workout!

Quick Beauty tip of the day:
Hate putting on cold body lotion when you get out of the shower in the colder months?
I do. :D
I have been leaving my Nivea lotion on the side of the tub, allowing it to ‘warm up’ while I shower. I run it under the hot water for a minute to heat it up. Once I am finished showering, I stay in the shower, grab a towl and quickly dry off about 75% of the water. Then I put lotion on while still in the shower and I am toasty as a bug in a rug!
Leaving your skin a bit damp, combined with the humid/hot environment allows the lotion to penetrate more into the skin. No alligator skin this winter!

This photo was inspired by Jess from Model Behavior! I loved her imfamous Oatmeal in the Shower photo, so I tried to recapture a bit of that in this shot. :D hah

I leave you with a Christmas Video from our dear Sketchie: :D
Oh boy…this Christmas should be interesting!
Only 48 days until Christmas!

What is your favourite food at Christmas?
One of mine is my mom’s sweet potato casserole
YUM!
haha that was definately an infamous photo of jess!
do you lotion every time you shower?
general question for everyone..
does everyone shower every day? and if so, do you lotion everyday?
thanks
angela, you are doing so great! I predict big success for this blog… ive been telling all my friends about it!
Hee hee thanks for the shout out! Although I must admit, the naked girl in the shower is what got the most attention :D That’s a wonderful idea with the lotion, I never would have thought of that! Love it!

I love Sketchie! What a fun cat, I hope he didn’t shock himself, chewing on those lights!
Isn’t it great to make it through a workout at times like that? Great accomplishment!
In an answer to jenn’s comment:
I shower everyday, I never ever lotion (only moisturize my face)
Jenn I shower immediately after I get back from my morning workout. Sometimes, when I am too pressed for time, I skip washing my hair and just put on a shower cap. When I get out of the shower I blow dry my hair and use the Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo to refresh it. I currently put lotion on everyday (the winter months my skin gets so dry so it helps alot).
Jess haha yes naked girls in the shower tend to get some attention! Love it! But how did you get the water to look that awesome??
Halie hehe well, when the video cut off I stopped it because I had to pull the light away from him!
And yes the workout felt great afterward (not so much during, but can’t win em all!)
hahaha Sketchie is a mess! I hope she didn’t get hurt biting those lights!!!
Good idea with the lotion. I’m in Texas so I don’t get much of a cold winter but I’m a wuss in the cold so anything helps!!!
Hooray for a great night’s sleep and a “still great” workout! :-D
**Favorite Christmas food = gingerbread men cookies!!
Rachel haha no Sketchie didn’t get hurt, just our poor tree!
yum gingerbread men!!! I will have to make those :)
Hi Angela – First time commenting here, but just wanted to say you have a fun blog! And I heart Sketchie. He should start his own blog.
I don’t even know how I did that, my camera is actually kind of crappy but it really picked up on that water amazingly, Bret took the photo, maybe he has the magic touch??
Answer to lotion question: yes I shower every day and only lotion when I’m not in a hurry. I can’t stand putting clothes on when the lotion hasn’t absorbed all the way!
Favorite Christmas Food: anything sweet! :) There are always tons of baked goods around to choose from!
Great post, Angela!
Favourite christmas food is all the cake and dessert. :P
