A Great Start to a Happy Friday

Morning everyone!!

It’s Friday once again– who hoo! I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. :)

I am having quite a lazy Friday morning. I have a Christmas team lunch today at one of the manager’s houses, so I am debating whether I will go into work before it or just go straight there. So I am having quite a relaxing morning if you will. I didn’t get up until 7:40am…awesomeness. :D

My start to the day was wonderful- I cranked our a 4 mile ‘moderate’ run as per my marathon training schedule. It was fabulous! Luckily I could not notice my sore inner thigh from yesterday. While it is still a bit sore, I only notice it when I bend down.

My run details:

  • 0.10 mile walking warm-up, incline 3% (~2 mins)
  • 6.5-7.0 mph for the first 5 minutes

Just a note– Since I dropped my incline to only 3% today- I found that I could not get my heart rate up high enough! It was barely 155 beats per minute when I was running 6.5 mph at incline 3. So I had to increase the speed to get into a good training zone for myself and make sure that I was challenging my cardiovascular endurance.

So after about the first 5 mins. of running, I settled in at 7.0 mph, incline 3%. :) My heart was beating around 165 bpm.

  • 4 mile run (First 2.5-3 miles were at 7.0 mph, then 0.5 miles was at 7.5 mph, and then the last 0.5 was at 7.0 mph)
  • Cool down (few mins walking)
  • Total duration: 39 mins.
  • Max heart rate: 174 bpm (89% of max)
  • Avg heart rate: 153 bpm (78% of max)

It was a great run! I was cranking tunes with some heavy beats to keep me going. :)

Yay! It was a lazy Friday for me to. Is it possible to have a food hangover? Haha. Glad your Friday is starting off on the right foot (literally) wow I’m corny.
