Glo Bakery: Wholesome Food Made Fun

by Angela (Oh She Glows) on February 22, 2009

Good afternoon!

Whew. This gal needs a break….and Eric too!

We have gotten so much accomplished today. We had an early start (thanks to me yanking him out of bed this morning). I find getting up early on the weekends really stretches the day out and makes the most out of the short time.

I have been baking this afternoon and gearing up the Glo Bakery website for it’s launch.

Eric has been busy as a bee scraping the popcorn off the ceiling. This ain’t the kind of popcorn you want to eat during the Oh She Glows Oscar Fashion party though! haha.

It looks so much better already! We hadn’t realized how yellow-ish the popcorn had become over the years until we scraped it off to reveal a nice, fresh white underneath! That is always a bonus. Eric is about half done now and still going strong thanks to my wholesome treats!

How to scrape popcorn off the ceiling:

1) Cover room in plastic.

2) Spray ceiling with water to make scraping easy.

3) Scrape carefully with a putty knife, making sure you keep the ceiling as level as possible.

4) Place scraped popcorn into a garbage lid for easy clean up.

5) Putty any cracks in ceiling. Sand ceiling.

6) Prime ceiling.

7) Now you are ready to paint!

Tip: This easy (but messy) reno not only updates your room but makes it look much larger!

It’s almost time……

Oh She Glows 1st Annual Oscar Fashion Party!

Click here to join the Oh She Glows Oscar chat room! Party starts around 6pm EST.

Bring your popcorn, red wine + chocolate, PJ’s, and kick back and relax!

We will have fun commentary on the Oscar celebrity fashion as well as some fun polls.

Glo Bakery

It’s here!

I am proud to reveal the Glo Bakery website to everyone:

Feel free to add Glo Bakery to your blogroll to help spread the word!

I welcome any comments, suggestions, or questions as always. :D

See you at the Oscars!

Stay tuned tonight for the WINNER of the Oh She Glows Fit Gear Contest #2…..could it be you???

I need to go clean up a HUGE mess in the kicthen!

47% of you guessed right that it was Kristin Davis who said this quote:

“You shouldn’t feel deprived,” she says of her dieting. “Healthy eating, to me, means limiting foods that could be harmful and eating foods that contain nutrients essential to your health. Not starving!”

Rock on Kristen!

Bakery looks GREAT! I just sent you what I hope is your first order! I’d be so honoured and in 20 years when Glo Bakery is a household name maybe I could be in a news paper article! YAY!

Can’t wait for the winner of the contest! I’m going to try to make it to your party tonight!

Angela! I just checked out the site and all your goodies but I am not sure if you want us to leave comments on there.
I am SO impressed/happy/inspired that you are making one of your dreams come true. I remember that you have been mentioning this as a dream of yours for a long time. Wonderful!

I don’t mean this to be critical at all, I’m just curious – what type of health inspections/permits/etc did you need to go through to launch your bakery?
