Hey there!
Sorry about the late posting- our power has been out this morning! We are getting crazy winds over 100km/hr here today. Almost all of our lovely snow is gone too because it rained all yesterday!
Well last night turned into quite a random night!
We finally arrived back home around 5:30pm. It was a long drive home about 4 hours again.
I made the mistake of trying to run after eating dinner! Now I know why I always workout in the morning. Whenever I try to workout at night I always get cramps from food. I didn’t have enough time to let it digest and I could barely run 1 mile.
My short workout:
- 0.10 mile warm up walking
- 6.0 mph 1-mile run incline 6% for 1st half mile, then incline 3%
- 0.10 walking cooldown, incline 3%
- Total time: 12-13 mins.
It was a total bust! They all can’t be great workouts I guess. :D

After that Eric and I finally exchanged gifts! We hadn’t had time to exchange them since we got home from our trip out west. I got some great gifts!
An Obusforme back support system (I have a sore back from sitting at the PC all day)
New blister proof Wright socks!
A USB port/clock/tea cup warmer all in one: :D And a spa package (consists of three 30 min visits)
A new chair!!! My old chair was so crappy and hurt my back. This one is a beaut.
And Eric got….a cheeky card :D
A Mastercraft Sliding Compound 10″ Mitre Saw (Sketchie included)
And a Mastercraft Pry and Wrecking Set (for demolition- crow bars etc). He loved it!

After showering, our friend Jesse came over and we decided to play some Wii.
I had two of these bad boys, and I am sad to say I was feeling the buzz! I don’t drink much anymore. lol. :D The beer gave me super ninja Wii fighting powers. I kicked their butt at boxing and tennis.
Sketchie was enthralled with the wires on the Nunchuck and remote. :D
We had competitions for shots as well…We did speed skating and the loser did a shot of Jamacian Rum. Luckily I did everything in my power to not come in last! Man my arms got a great workout last night! Poor Jesse had to do it..
The bad part? The beer let my guard down and I had a ton of Christmas treats!!!!
I think I had about 6 shortbread cookies, 1 PB & Chocolate cookie, countless chocolate balls, etc. Eek!! Any chance they were negated through calories burned from playing Wii?
We were having so much fun we stayed up til about 4:30am playing Wii! It was intense!!!! I am quite tired today.
On today’s agenda:
- 5-6 mile run
- Read Marathon book :)
- Clean up
- Laundry, organizing office, etc
- Groceries
- Do recap on blog of my exercise goals over the holiday week
- Sign up for charity for half-marathon
- Blog!

Another quote from “Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide”
“I was approached by an Australian runner who announced, “This is the first time I have ever beat you.” I felt obliged to correct him, “You didn’t beat me, you merely finished in front of me.” He stammered an apology, but he had missed what I believed to be the point of the marathon. In a marathon, you don’t beat others as you might in a 100-metre dash. Instead, you achieve a personal victory. If others finish in front or behind you, it is only that their personal victories are more of less than yours. A person finishing behind you with less talent, or a different age or sex, or various other factors, may have achieved a far greater victory. And if the person’s main goal in running the marathon was to raise money for charity, the amount of money collected may be a more important barometre of success than finishing time.”
This. book. is. so good. I am already on chapter 5!
See you later! :D Have a great healthy & happy day!!!
