Evening!
This is a LATE 3rd post of the day, again I am sorry for the off schedule today! Things just haven’t been going according to plan from computer glitches to Youtube being down for maintenance, to the internet being down at work! But, I don’t let that get in my way….no sir ee! :D
I hope you are all having a great night and are looking forward to a fun filled weekend. I know I sure am- it is going to be a busy week ahead!
Tonight I was going a bit stir crazy. I have felt quite sedentary lately with sitting at the desk job all day and then in the car. So tonight I just had to move. Eric and I had planned to go for a walk after the Leafs hockey game, but I checked the temperature and it was a chilly -8 degrees Celcius (17.6F) outside so I hopped on my treadmill and began to look through the programs that I hadn’t had time to go over yet. That is the beauty of treadmills, you can hop on no matter what the weather!
I found an Army Fitness Test on my treadmill and I thought….wow sounds intimidating and scary. But, being a person who is motivated by challenges, I knew I had to try it. It’s only 2 miles, I thought. So I ran upstairs, got changed, and headed back to test myself.
I admit I was quite nervous! I felt like I was actually trying out for the army! lol. I was a bit worried that I had a full stomach, but I told myself I could always stop and re-test in the morning if I needed to.
And so Eric tried to do a video during my run, but let’s just say that didn’t work. I couldn’t talk I was so out of breath!
Here I am post-fitness test, sweaty, and all:
After doing this fitness test I realized even more how motivated I get with challenges like this. I think that is why I am finding the half-marathon training so exhilirating. When I reach goals that I set for myself, nothing feels better.
I admit I was feeling a little GI Jane after this run.
LOL!!! Ok, maybe not quite that hardcore…
I asked Eric what score he thought I got out of 100 and he said 85. I never know if he is just under-estimating so I can yell out that I scored higher or if he was actually guessing seriously. Regardless, it’s always fun to say “Nope…..ONE HUNDRED!” And do a little victory dance. :D He just laughs and rolls his eyes.
Now that I know what I could run on a full stomach, I am anxious to re-test myself fresh and empty in the morning to see if that makes a difference. Time will tell! It would be fun to test myself every week or two to see how my speed and time changes as I improve my running.

Good news!
I heard from my boss tonight that our team day is cancelled and I can work from home tomorrow because of the snow storm! Yippee! :D I am so excited. This will give me a bit more time to pack tomorrow and not be rushed so much to leave on Saturday. I am going to pack and do laundry over my lunch hour (and blog of course!).
The Bad news…
No Homemade Pistachio Larabar experiment tonight. I did make them, but I haven’t perfected the recipe yet so I am going to give it another go before I post the results! They will be up soon though!
And I leave you with a Sketchie video…..it’s called ‘Sketchie meets the new Washing Machine’ :D
Eric says its boring, but I think it is cute. He is so scared and creeped out by our new washer and dryer!!!
He won’t go near it! lmao
