Coming Clean

November 24, 2008

That’s right, I am coming clean today.

I present to you, the sad number of full push-ups that I can do:

It ain’t pretty, but hey, it’s week 1. And I will improve! Oh yes, I will improve.

How many full push-ups can you do? Come on, say a low number and make me feel better. :P

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I felt like a zombie at the gym this morning. I don’t know what it was but I just felt so out of it. I had a hard time falling asleep again last night so I’m sure that had something to do with it. I don’t think I fell asleep until 1am. Ugh. No matter how slumpy I feel on Mondays, knowing I had a great workout always makes me feel better though!
My workout:
  • Ran 1 mile on treadmill (then I realized it was my X-train day) so I switched
  • 28-30 mins on the Elliptical, resistance 8-10, incline 8-14
  • 24 flights stairs
  • Duration: 43:30 mins.
  • Max heart rate: 161 bpm (83% of max)
  • Avg heart rate: 148 (76% of max)
After my workout, I ate breakfast (Nature’s Path Spelt cereal and an apple) and got ready for work. I also have a podiatrist appointment to talk to the Dr. about getting orthotics at 10am, then off to work!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today is going to be a very busy day at work! Meetings, meetings, meetings.
Hope you all have a GREAT Monday! :D

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.

Hey Angela,

You’re so cute! 12 is not bad at all. I don’t think i can do that many. I’ll have to see how many I can do and get back to you. I’ve always wanted to be able to do pushups. My upper body strength is the pits! Definitely something to improve upon!

You had yiruma in the background~ love it. I could listen to it all day.
I think i would be able to do less pushups especially on week one of a workout regimine. I really want to do the power 90 workout. Have you heard anything about it?

My boyfriend’s been wanting to buy the power 90 workout for a while now. I would love to hear comments if anyone has tried it.

Angela, great job on the push ups! I will try this evening and get back to you. I know it’s definitely less than 10! haha

12 seems like a good number to me! I think your back could be a little flatter, though.
I have been trying to add more push-ups to my routine. I like to alternate sets of elbows in versus elbows out to work my chest and triceps.

Sounds like a great workout! Cool blog too!

12 is pretty darn good! Ideally you should try to keep your backs straighter so you get your chest closer to the floor, I think on a pushup your elbows should be at around 90 degress. I’ll have to test myself to see how many I can do!
