Hey everyone!
Sorry again for not having time to do my regular morning post this morning. I was up early and off to my big presentation today for all the big wigs! :)
It actually went really well! I am so relieved. I always get so nervous before hand, but once I am doing it and I meet the people I realize that it isn’t bad at all. I think I have this anxiety partly because I had some really bad experiences in grad school with presentations- people grill you will questions and critique every little thing. Now that I am in the working world, I realize that this tends to not be the case because, generally we are all working together toward the same purpose!
So naturally I am quite relieved to have this morning over with. I was too nervous to eat breakfast this morning (as is always the case with presentation days!), so after the meeting I was quite hungry for lunch. I stopped at Subway since I didn’t have time to pack a real lunch today.
I got my usual- a veggie on whole wheat! ;)
I got a footlong today because I suspected I may be hungry again quite soon, so I had 6″ for lunch and will probably have the rest before I head home from work tonight around 6:30pm.
The contents:
- Lettuce
- tomatoes
- onions
- cukes
- carrots
- green peppers
- regular mustard
- pepper
It was delicious! After I ate it I felt instantly energized.
When I got back to work (yes I had to go back to work, blech!!) the party continued on…
with a Royal Gala apple:
and an Honest Foods Cran Lemon Zest country square (yum!!!!!)
Now it is back to work! :( At least I only have another 4 hours to go!
Keep those contest entries coming in! Contest ends tomorrow!!!
Lots of exciting stuff on the way on Oh She Glows:

I love this quote:
If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all.

Hi Ange- Congrats on the presentation!
I have a silly question regarding the “Green Monster.” It seems like all of the ingredients are tasty in their own right, why is it necessary to liquefy them together into a drink that is less than pleasing? Why not just add a great nutrient-rich salad to your lunch or dinner menu to up the vitamins in your diet? I’m sure there is a great reason, but I just can’t figure it out :o)
Hmmm that’s a good question, Holly! I will look forward to an answer – if there is one?!
Congrats on being finished the presentation! That cran lemon zest bar looks yummy.
Hope you’re having a good Wednesday!
Congrats on your presentation!
That sub looks fantastic! I LOVE mustard!!

That sub looks fantastic! I LOVE mustard!!
I made a smoothie for breakfast this morning!
Not a green monster but a pretty colourful fruit one! :)
It was sooo good and so refreshing – just what I needed to make me think of spring and summer!
Hooray for the presentation going well!! :-D
that is a really great quote :)

Angela
So glad you got the morning over with and you feel better about it!! My first day of classes was pretty successful I think…I’m like you though, just glad to be done for the day! :)
I always put myself in the shoes of the ones watching and 9 times of of 10, I’ve learned they aren’t doting on even a quarter of what you’re worrying about.
OMG You should’ve seen some of the concotions I’ve made with a juicer…- Cucumber apple juice etc.. whatever was in my cabinets was usuable.
Congrats on the presentation!!! Thats awesome!!!
I love the veggie subs… so good.
To give a partial answer to the question about veggies — I used a juicer quite a bit at one point and made all kinds of concoctions (my favorite was 3 carrots, a small apple, and ¼ of a beet, which gave it this luscious color). Juice is easily digested by the body, which is one reason some folks go nuts over their fresh carrot juice each morning. A downside to juicing is that you do remove some of the fiber. So. . . blenderizing your veggies – as seen in the case of the green monster — makes for quicker digestion/eating and keeps the fiber.
But, yes, I am with you – I would rather eat kale in a nice sauté with garlic than in liquid form! ;)
OK — now it’s Angela’s turn to respond!!
i really like your quote! and i can’t wait for beating the freshman 15 part 3!
Could you please pass the grey poupon? Shhhessh, that veggie grinder looks so good. I am actually drooling now but never heard of cukes before?
Ange, Yay for being done with your presentation! As a scientist (in cancer research) presentations are a fact of life, but I’m always glad when they are over and especially glad when they go well!
I also want to thank you for doing this blog. I am also a daily reader of other health blogs, but have found them to become somewhat the same day in and day out! I’m not bashing them…I think very highly of all of them, but I like how you mix the fashion, exercise, food, and your life/personal experiences into the blog. It has really motivated me in this new year.
Thanks again for all you do!
